Been the goal for Years. Still the Goal. I would say if it is not done this week it is not going to happen. In that case we are most likely looking at nothing tell after purchase of Sunny. We may get to vote on a take it or leave it last min offer from the company. Time for messing around is fastly coming to an end. I wish I had any hope of good news at the end of the week.

Time isn't running out for anything. They can close on the deal and integrate the fleet but only the union can file for single carrier status with the NMB, which isn't happening until a cba is achieved and the retention bonus is paid out. Until then the pilot groups will stay separate.

Either pilot group can file for Single Carrier status. Sunny union leadership will likely do that immediately once the purchase is complete. Once Single Carrier status is received by the NMB individual sides neg their own deal will no longer be happening. We will then vote for who represents us and they will start work on a new joint contract. Each side will keep what they have at that time. So unless IBT gets a deal done before Sunny is officially purchased, G4 pilots will be stuck with status quo tell the Joint contract is done. The company has said that the purchase could finalize as early as the end of the 2 quarter or beginning of 3rd so we are looking at sometime June to Aug. So if we are not voting on a Neg deal or take it or leave it deal from the company by June we are more likely stuck with current contract tell we have a new Joint contract.

I say bullsh*+
They are currently meeting with SY management for negotiations. So what happens to those negotiations after the deal closes? The idea that SY pilots and Alpa are gonna just sit around and wait for us to get a deal just seems like another ibt pipedream

[QUOTE=Bitcoin;4018803]Yes either union can file but I've been told that the ALPA MEC at SY will not file either until we reach a CBA. They understand the risk of our situation with a JCBA not being a trigger for the retention bonus payout, only a CBA.[/QUOTE
The entire reason for unions to file is so that they are not put against each other neg for aircraft and routes of flying. We as pilots would want to make sure we are together and in know way continued to be operated as two seperate groups. The JCBA is a CBA and that would replace our current contract at G4 and Sunny. The new contract now or Joint would trigger the Retention payout per signed agreement this would have zero effect on Sunny pilots as they would fly current contract until JCBA was ratified.

Sunny Pilot would not get an retention bonus money because they did not have an agreement like that currently, just like G4 pilots will not get any of the pay or benefits of the Sunny pilot contract.
