Smart, more people really should be taking advantage of this. I usually put the min in months 1-4 then months 5-6 I try to hit the max total limit and immediately sell to take the easy gain with only a 2 month hold period.

This is a better move if you're going to run up against the 20k per year limit.

Sure you could cause a red short term candle if everyone sold at the same moment in time but the shares have to be purchased first so overall it's a net wash on the stock price since the company pays the discount when the buy orders are filled.

I don't think the company purchases the stock. I think they do a new issue (but I might be wrong, would have to read the 10-k and look at the number of issued shares).

Also the number of shares are small via the ESPP. Roughly 250k shares are traded a day, giving about 16 million dollars worth of ALGT stock changing a hands a day.

No holding time and a 15% discount (so a 17.5% immediate rate of return). Dumping the stock the second it hits my account. Only downside is you can't touch the money until it buys every 6 months so not exactly liquid if you run into financial problems.

It is liquid. You can pull the money out mid offering period and drop out of the program. The limit is $25k/yr.

This. Both of these are true. You can pull it out at any time if something happens.

Interesting, and smart move. Thanks for explaining.

It was the planned mid Oct class that will now be combined with the Oct. 31 class.

Why would a new hire come to Allegiant to make half as much as a regional. There aren’t that many independently wealthy pilots looking for a job in Appleton. I’m surprised there are any classes.

Agreed, it's surprising.

In other news, UAL latest vacancy bid has unfilled CA vacancies in 6 different bases now, TA2 on the way shortly along with TA1 for AA.

REGIONAL FO - interested in ALGT, but can’t get there w/o new contract. I’d be fine making ATW home as I’m from Appleton. What is IBT union doing to get a new contract? Timetable?
