Nope, you've been out voted on this one. No second tier ULCC pilot rates will go out for vote, sorry.

I think it's been made abundantly clear at this point, MG isn't afraid to throw money at the problem. What he isn't going to do is recreate our business model to welcome "industry leading" work rule changes. But if that's what you're waiting for, I'd start probing our second tier negotiating board as to when it's going to happen. If you think that an NMB contract will bring it, you're hallucinating.

I didn’t know we already voted??? IBT must have the wrong address for me… oh well.

It's okay, they must've put it to vote in the facebook comment section on a recent post. Easy to miss things on that great resource.

Don't get me wrong, I want all the money they'll throw our way, the work rule improvements we need and the ancillary benefits (disability, 401k, etc.) but if you want industry leading compared to Delta? Go to Delta. It isn't going to happen here and spreading this misnomer that it will is only going to lead to hurt feelings and a baseless "no" vote on any AIP shown to us.

This high school teen drama is totally warranted, I even asked my high school teen what they would say in this situation. We are PAYING AR to do a job and he's surrounding himself at the table with scarily under-qualified people. It's all good though, I'm sure our team of trail lawyers and culinary union negotiators do an excellent job when they aren't drinking with AR.

I kind of agree with you. Not because "hey, its allegiant". But more that I'm willing to leave some money on the table in favor of the quality of life that comes with being home at night. That's something you won't get at delta. And allegiant has better basing for me, but that's subjective. But the pay needs to be much closer for sure.

And that QOL you traded $$$ for could be gone in a heartbeat; it’s an aircraft routing strategy the co. can chuck at any time, not a negotiated benefit.

The survey, the majority doesn't want a SY style contract.

You better get your preferred bases codified into the next contract then. Home every night is meaningless if your home base closed or shrinks. We are home every night because that's what the company wants right now, not the pilots. If and when it suits them then the party is over.

If we don't win then neither do they.

I get that, but I also think a lot of pilots came here for that specifically. So why don't we push for that in the contract. Premium rate for anything overnight that would put us on par with Delta, et al. Day trip is still in the companies interest and pilots are compensate if it goes away.

I get that it's not a perfect strategy, but it's a fact of life. I want to be home more than I'm gone and I'm willing to sacrifice pay to get it. I'm betting there are a lot of others who would agree.
