I remeber once I joined a regional I was offered class dates for either the crj or erj and I was allowed to choose.. At the beginning of the class we were all mixed but at some point they splitted us. I still remember the recruiter telling me I have erj for this date and crj for this date.
Maybe Allegiant gives that option in the future to new hires? |

That's unlikely but possible. They are running it the same as the big 3 and other majors with more than 1 fleet type. However, for the time being they are waiving any equip locks for those awarded bus that want 737. Some have even gotten the award off the airbus while still in indoc. Also, the equip lock is not a seat lock, meaning if you're awarded 737 FO you can bid airbus CA right away. The December bid had someone only on property for 3 months awarded airbus captain (sept 2023 hire).

Oh it’s great to know about the equip locks! I’d imagine that could be very helpful for those who do want FL

that not actually how the equipment lock works. If you are awarded Boeing you can only take Boeing CA upgrade for two years, if you could hold airbus CA you would be bypassed and forced to stay on the Boeing because of the equipment lock.

So the above means that even if you get airbus as a new hire you can bid directly for the 737 and get it? and this is only for 320 to move to 737 not the opposite way. Correct? |

Yes, but keep in mind this is at companies descretion and they are not required to provide this on any bids.

PVU
How junior is PVU these days? Is it a difficult base to get?
|
FLL base
Looking to stay in the FLL/MIA area for the near future, long term I actually like PVU.
I understand FLL is a smaller base and would be most junior FO for quite some time. What would an average month look like for the most junior FO in FLL ? Throughout the seasons. How often would you actually get to fly in month? Can you pick up extra trips around summer ? I don't mind 20 days of sitting reserve a month at FLL or TDY/VDB bases Thank you very much. |
