piper,

do you how long it's taking now? I've heard we have a few CFI making their way through the training cycle so I'm just curious.

There were 5 CFIs in the 7/31 class. They're off of OE now.

What bases are attainable straight out of training? And is it still true that you can get pretty much any base within a few months of being out of training?

Because of my family situation, I need to stay in FL (or get back to Florida as soon as possible). I know that FL bases are generally hard to get, so I understand that I might have to start somewhere else (hopefully somewhere with an easy commute). But how long would that likely be? I don’t mind sitting reserve in FL.

Are new hires still getting assigned Airbus?

Thank you!

The current base award has no Florida open spots for possible NH spots in Dec class. With this bid, a few FO's got FLL, VPS, PGD. those base awards are effective April 1st. So if not available as a NH it would likely be June or after. When spots are open will vary. If all the new awards got their first choice or not. As far as I know all currently offered 737 spots have either been taken by current pilots and or not offered to NH as of yet.

if you want PIE goodluck. We haven’t had a vacancy or backfill for months.

PIE vacancies should start in Jan for the max. It should be easy for a new hire to get SFB or PIE if they bid the guppy since nobody will be displaced off the airbus. I heard they will continute to lift the eqiup lock if orginally awarded the bus.

IND base

Is IND a junior base or is it pretty hard to get out of training?

It's not being offered to new hires in the next class. As far as how long it will take, depends on attrition and if anyone in the next class or other classes before/including yours want it. It's a very small base so could go any way... 737 may complicate things if you get equipment locked onto that.
