Default Feedback on a pilot salary article

Hello,

I'm a long-time lurker, first time poster. I run an aviation website and am writing a series of articles on pilot salaries in the U.S. The first one is about Allegiant.

Here's a link to the article: https://www.aviamonde.com/allegiant-pilot-salary

I would also like to hear about the following:

1. How's the quality of life at Allegiant? I know a big perk is being home every night.
2. What's the pilot attrition rate like? How many pilots have left in 2025 so far? How many in 2024?
3. What's the policy around beards and tattoos? Are visible tattoos allowed?
4. Which airlines do you think would be fair to compare to in terms of pay? Frontier and Spirit come to mind, but are the likes of Avelo or Sun Country comparable?

I'd appreciate your feedback, and if you can be so kind as to verify its accuracy. I'd love to hear the good and the bad, and whether you think I should add or change anything.

Thank you!

1. the only perk of Allegiant is being home every night unless you are in the top 1/3 in your base, then you can control your schedule. Otherwise, you’re at the companies mercy with our ****ty CBA. IF we get an industry standard CBA then this is by far the best job in the world.

2. 24 pilots left so far in 2025 with 0 new hires. 2024 we lost 49 but added 232 new hires. 2023 we lost the most at 182 but still added 278 newhires

3. beards are allowed, tattoos must be covered

4. Realistically we should be compared more to the “big 4” than anyone else. We fly more people than anyone else for the airframe and have the largest profit margins historically. Our models don’t look anything to the likes of frontier, spirit, or really anyone. Frontier is adopting more of an Allegiant style but not completely

if you ask G4 who we should be compared to they will say legacy carriers. If you ask anybody else in the industry they’ll say the other ULCC airlines. Especially Suncountry, Avelo and breeze (those three have former Allegiant execs all over the c suite).
