Here is to the hope that whichever union gets voted in, the new JCBA surpasses either of our current contracts. (but lets hope its ALPA)
|
The G4 pilots have an interim agreement between Allegiant air llc and the pilots in the service of Allegiant air llc as represented by the international brotherhood of teamsters airline division local 2118. It is an interim agreement for retention bonuses we have been accruing since May 2023. It says in there Allegaint air llc is the “company” and the international brotherhood of teamsters airline division is the “union” collectively the “parties.” It says we get our retention bonus 60 days following the ratification of the “parties” amended cba. So we have no choice but to go with teamsters until we get that money.
|
How much are those bonuses worth? In dollars.

I’m absolutely certain that we can’t risk going ALPA as G4 pilots because it would put our Retention bonus in jeopardy. There will be false information reassuring us that we will still get this bonus if we switch… But we absolutely need the cash to hit our accounts first before we make any changes. Thats the kind of management we have here. |

Average CA is over 200k at this point. Average Fo is over 100K. I am not sure the comment that we have to stay IBT for that to still be a legal contract, If you had a New CBI even though it would have been signed by teamsters it would not be voided if we went to ALPA, I am sure smarter reps from places like ALPA National will be able to clearify that for allegiant pilots.

JR Cap at SCA
Not trying to upset any feathers but at SCA we have a 15% direct contribution. Most captain line holders hit the 46,500 max and get a good bonus check. As a 2nd year FO working hard, the company gave me 33K last year. What’s your retirement deal?

Everything in our contract is crap. You would be had pressed to find a contract worse than ours in the us 121 world. |

under what proof do you have that the bonus would be in jeopardy. The agreement was between management and the pilots, the reason its signed as teamsters is that they are the representing party at the time of signing. The pilot that signed the agreement was a G4 pilot. I have emails stating the company owes me not the teamsters that money. I would agree that confirmation from actual ALPA legal would be needed to verify that we would not void that agreement.
The most senior people at this airline have received outside counsel on this matter. There’s nothing I’d like more than to walk away from IBT….. but I will not take any action to do so until the cash hits the account in full. I’m sure the company will tell us all otherwise…. But the agreement was made specifically with the teamsters. A move away from them would result in the company having the option of not paying. |

Bring that agreement to any labor attorney. I’ve spoken to everyone I can in our union as well as a myriad of contacts at other airlines.

It will be interesting to watch. With ALGT being the buyer, I’m sure they will want to bring SY over and gladly welcome them to the ALGT contract. Rumor talks are always cheap but when this stuff comes to fruition, it gets very complicated. I’m not really seeing these two as a compatible couple but it will be fun to watch.

Yes, we almost had a successful ALPA drive here over the summer. My guess is that Allegiant will be ALPA at the end of this merger
I’m sure every sunny pilot agrees our new G4 kin should get what they were promised. No qualms over here. |

I’m sure every sunny pilot agrees our new G4 kin should get what they were promised. No qualms over here. IBT will try to convince your MEC that they should concede the vote because of our larger pilot group. Don’t buy it, nobody here really wants to be represented by a truck drivers union. |
Doesn't our contract for the retention bonus state something like it's only payable after we have a TA? If we switch to ALPA, Sun Country already has a CBA so there would be no TA, at least not until the next one.

That said, I have it on good authority that ALPA will not concede as they did with Mesa. I expect to see the full showing of ALPA showmanship encouraging Allegiant pilots to join a real pilot union and finally ditch the truckers. SY MEC, when you see this PLEASE trust that our pilot group is begging for real representation. In a merger, one group simply doesn’t fall under another groups CBA by virtue of the purchase. Here’s what I believe will happen: 1. Allegiant Ratifies TA/RB Payout (Q2 2026) 2. SLI Talks begin (Q3 2026) 3. Representation Vote is requested by ALPA (Q4 2026) 4. ALPA Elected (Q1 2027) 5. JCBA Talks Begin (Q2 2027) Anyone on this forum who thinks “our retention bonus will be voided because it was a IBT deal” needs a serious lesson on what status-quo is under the RLA. Me thinks that ALPA is about to step up to the plate and take a swing at some real education VERY soon. It will be greatly welcomed, it’s unfortunate but some of our pilots have drunken too much of the GU KoolAid over the last 3 years, a point that bewilders me to this day. SY folks, I think at the end of this looking back we’re all going to be grateful it happened. I apologize in advance on behalf of the naïveté of some of our pilots. They believe that the IBT wets the ink on their paychecks and that if they leave, the concrete shoes will appear. We’re two fortunate groups, we both fly for companies that make money. We should be proud of that fact and thanking our lucky stars either of us aren’t being swept into the NK F9 mess. Cheers! It’s going to be a good ride. |

You want to complete the JCBA first, then integrate seniority. Study US/AW to see what can happen if you try it the other way 'round.
