They don't except in unusual circumstances. At G4 it's part of the staffing plan.

And now we have the myr tdy. The love is going by-coastal. Florida was somewhat insulated from the tdy’s. There was some chap on here who was ok with the current state of affairs; heck he was from florida anyway.

Wait till you see that schedule.

The "Brand X" that our dearly beloved VP of Ops comes from is NWA.

Thanks. I never knew that NWA did TDYs. Very interesting. Seems to me the business model of Allegiant and NWA are different. But, WTFDIK?

I completely understand why people would be upset with the whole TDY aspect of scheduling if it is new and wasn't a known quality of life issue. I was just commenting that if you were TDY, a condo with private room and bath is pretty darn nice - and certainly compared to some of my previous TDY/TAD billeting assignments! YIKES! :)

The TDY may not sound bad, if you don't mind getting Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday off. That means no commuting. I also don't think they are providing transportation to and from the airport to the condo, so you'd have to take your own car.

Of course $24/day per diem isn't going to buy you a lot of meal options, unless you like living on Ramen noodles.

I wonder if the condo has cable tv or internet? The company would probably deduct that from your pay if you want to use it.

I don't know if the TDY's will necessarily come from the Florida bases. They have been understaffed for years, so it could be a case of more West Coast people being forced East. I bet what they'll do is TDY people from the Florida bases to MYR, and then TDY people from the West Coast to cover the Florida bases. That makes perfect sense!

Indeed “Dog”, as many of us have worn the uniform and endured the discomforts for the greater good. But, this is a different season of life and enduring these discomforts, for the greater good of the stockholders is unacceptable.

I think they are counting on the recent bunch of new hires to be done by May, as well as a backlog of upgrades. There's your MYR staffing.

The west coast bases will be needed to staff what will be a fairly sizeable seasonal re-opening of LAX.

True. Better than the JO jungle on the Ranger or a B hut in Bagram.

I dont agree at all where this "shared" living TDY is going. Having said that, for someone who is single and versatile, you could save a lot of rent money over the summer by living in said condos, and having a kitchen would be just like eating at home so you could pocket your TDY pittance that they offer. I am really tired of their double standards though. God forbid they let go of a few bucks of their $100 million stock buyback to make their employees a little happier. I wonder if the 3 ghosts will ever visit upper management as in "A Christmas Carol?!"
