What does a current week look like at Allegiant? Start times and end times for your days. Typical days off especially for new hires. How long to hold a line in FLL, and how long to get a west coast base? Thanks.

There are no "normal" weeks anymore with this PBS they shoved down our throats. Depending on the base, you are more than likely to get Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday off. Reserve typically starts at either 0400, 0600, 1000, or 1200, although CS normally changes it everyday regardless of what you bid.

Holding a line in FLL as an FO is easy, or used to be. In the past, there were no FO reserves, so all the FO's held a line. I don't know what they are doing because of PBS. We can't see any other pilot schedules now, so someone familiar with that base would have to tell you what it's like.

Getting out West really depends on how many either get hired or quit. Depending on where you want to go, I would say a year minimum right now.

The bid results came out with the newest upgrades, and the movement on the fo side. Here is the most junior person (FO only) for each base hire date. According to the seniority list the most junior pilot was hired 1/6/2014.

LAS- 1/6/2014
IWA- 1/4/2012
BLI- 11/9/2012
OAK- 4/29/2010
ENV- 11/9/2012
FLL- 1/6/2014
PIE- 1/6/2014
SFB- 1/6/2014
PGD- 1/6/2014

Hope this helps, for those who want to come to Allegiant.

Very helpful, thanks for the post. I'm not to sure what's going to happen with the company but there are 2 or 3 bases that went to new hires in January that I could sit reserve at home. That is appealing.

I put my app in today. I live near Seattle, how senior is BLI?

pipercub 04-08-2014 06:24 PM

BLI is a very small and most of the time very hard to get. CA side very very long wait most pilots that are there live there and are not going anywhere anytime soon likely not tell retirement which is a long way off for all. FO side bounces around some due to pilots leaving to upgrade. Just happened 3 pilots left. Only way to get is if people decide to leave BLI for upgrade. I think until this last upgrade Bellingham had the same group of pilots for three years both seats.

labbats 04-08-2014 07:10 PM

Two things...

BLI is likely going to shrink per comments by management in a recent ground school. OAK is a 50/50 shot to stay open.

Don't apply here because you live anywhere other than Florida. The West coast bases of IWA and LAS are going to be here for the long haul, but they are very stagnant and you'll likely wait years before you can hold a line there. BLI and OAK may or may not stay open in 5 years.

Also, the upgrade time just released is very misleading. Many FOs could have held it but the current state of affairs here made most pass it up. If you could see the seniority list toward the bottom of the CA list you'd see whole blocks of FOs who just don't want to deal with the madness of being junior at this company.

Edit: To illustrate my point there were 12 upgrades. The most junior CA before this bid was #207 out of 415.
The most junior CA on this bid is #257.
