How far fetched would "a new" airline startup be that is brought on line in parallel but seperate with g4 and a stock swap done and then a lock out?
I'd be looking for crazy plays like that since the management is ex Value Jet. And I probably am 2 million miles off... Good luck, if g4 strikes no scabs... That needs to be really understood there is a thread or two here just search. |

We have a public company.
We have no business travelers. We have been in negotiations for two years. We have just won an injunction in court. We have a mediator who has already said publicly that the negotiations are moving too slow on the side of the company. We have the vast majority of pilots not just willing to strike, but preferring it after our recent treatment. When Spirit went on strike they had one scab flight. Before it landed the pictures and addresses of the pilots were posted online. No one will scab in 2014 and all of the social media around today. I'm not too concerned. |

Seeing as how there are several scabs (actual scabs, on "the list") that already work there, I doubt that it will be true that "no one will scab." For your sake I hope their numbers are small, and that those who do, are made to pay the price dearly.
Yup, they aren’t the majority by any measure. Little history, this place let less than ten percent of their pilots go un-qualified this past winter. All because of the “Government Shutdown”, and ops was running like an Iraqi regiment. |
Hopefully you guys will get full retro pay when the contract is finally done. Don't settle for a "signing bonus".

The minute we stop flying there's going to be hell to pay from our hotel and rental car companies and the shareholders will demand the strike end to keep the golden goose laying eggs. |

Don't be too certain. Republic has plenty of pilots that would have absolutely NO QUALMS about replacing you. That's what Republic pilots do.
Doesn’t matter who, or how many pilots are out there ready to replace us. This training department couldn’t do it. |
Two thoughts: other carriers have had to wait 5-6 years to get a contract, so 2-3 doesn't mean anything. As for the company dithering, they will do that for a while, and then put something meaningful enough on the table that the mediator has back down...for a while.
Alter ego operation: it could happen. GoJet and Freedom were just that. I'm not saying it would be easy, but it would be much easier than getting pilots to cross an actual picket line. |
