Default Applying at Allegiant

Went to the website and saw no postings for pilot positions.

Do they use airline apps or another service for applying?

Are you sure? Cause it's on their website.

Past posts seem to indicate the amount and quality of new hire training is between the level of airlines known to offer the minimum training and those known to have robust training departments. Any comments about what initial indoc is like as well as systems and sim? Learn everything yourself w iPad vs. detailed? Approx total length of training start to finish?

I have only regional airline training to compare to, but I would say it was a level above. We also received some training in self defense and water ops with the rafts in the pool etc..

There were delays in training, but in my opinion welcome breaks between phases, ie a week or two off here and there, including over xmas and new years.

My experience is over a year and a half ago though so not very current. Today, I think people are doing Computer Based Training for systems, but I suspect that is industry wide now.

You want to know who has a minimal program? I've heard Spirit is 6 weeks start to finish. 4 sims.

The training department has had a lot of changes in the past years but currently is managed by a good group of people. It's low stress and they will get you extra training if you need it as long as you show effort and progress. All ground school starts with computer based CBT but it hasn't been approved for home use, so you still need to goto Vegas to do it. Hotels are good/great, free, single occupancy, and you get a rental car when sims start.

The training isn't great, but it's sufficient with a lot of self study. The real downer (and this depends a lot on your own abilities) is the oral... it's tough, very thorough. Not uncommon to have a 3-4 hr oral. However, different experiences could be had depending on your APD. Best tip I ever received (as a new hire) is: "Allegiant trains you to 50% but tests you to 110%".

That said, it's been nearly two years for me, and it's consistently getting better.

Any questions/comments feel free to call/text anytime

It's really not bad as long as you study like you would for any airline job, don't expect to be spoon fed. They want you to put in the work and they pay you like a 'real airline pilot' with that expectation. Study hard in initial and for PC's and you'll do fine. The only guys that struggle are those who don't put the effort.

We have 4 APD's for the bus and 2 for the -80, they're all VERY fair (maybe too fair) and they all want you to succeed. However, they know when you haven't put forth the effort and most failures are due to lack of this.

Quick app question- so, I submitted an application online and received the TBNT email 2 weeks ago. Just logged back in to the Allegiant site, and that application currently shows "Being Reviewed" under status. Would my app still be under review if it was rejected?
