There's no penalty for applying, however, a TBNT should be expected. That's the "nice" response. The real response is, you have 0 chance.

 

No disrespect intended, but you're not even remotely qualified for a job here. You should look at the regionals and spend 2-3 years flying your butt off and gain some good 121 experience while you build time.

Boy, some rough responses here, like we all haven't been in the same boat. Here's the good news, you're pretty close. 3k hours is what you need to at least merit a look. At this moment in time, since there's quite a few apps coming through, 4k hours will make you competitive. But with 3k hours and your military service I wouldn't be surprised if you at least got a look. And it really all depends on the pilot supply at any given time. I would've never have gotten hired here had I not applied pre-contract (3500 hrs regional fo, nothing special about me at all).

So, get an intense flying job for a year or two, preferably 121, and start hitting some job fairs just to get some face time with recruiters; so when you are competitive, it's not a question of "why you" it's "when can you start"...

I have a question for anyone else who may be going through the same thing. I completed the online skills assessment and video interview about six weeks ago. I have yet to hear a single thing back from them. Has this happened to anyone else here? Should I just treat this as a no thanks, or might there still be a chance?

Thanks for the replies. I talked with them at WAI this year about a week after taking the assessment. I was told this would help, and my stuff would be moved up quicker for a decision. Nothing since. I'll try to reach out.
