It's also been said that I have a 12 inch co.... we'll, you get the picture.
See above... Just because it's on the internet (or in a FB post by MB) doesn't make it true.
Attrition: If you look carefully through the seniority list it's minimal. The few people that have left have been primarily from the bottom of the list with a few recently upgraded (12-18 month) -80 guys. We've had 4 or 5 go to Delta.
There will be no pay raise to stem attrition and it's just not how our management team rolls. In addition, a $20 an hour raise doesn't solve any problem. IF someone really wanted to start a good (believable) rumor, they should say that to stem attrition the company is FINALLY going to purchase a true scheduling system that ACTUALLY honors seniority and hire additional help in payroll so our pay is correct more than it's not.

That doesn't make any sense. Why would the company commit to a long term cost for a short term problem? And if it's junior people leaving, then why would they make an across the board raise?
Attrition was planned at 6 per month. I believe we're close to that. Some people will leave for bigger jets or pay, but I don't see an exodus.

I don't make this stuff up, just spread it around if I've heard it more than once.

Didn’t work out so good. Hence the TA at Horizon. There wouldn’t be a bonus offered to new hire FOs without our approval. And we wouldn’t allow that without a bumP for everyone.

Reference the new horizon TA scenario. Horizon tried to pay new hire FOs a bonus to attract and keep them. But they were in violation of the contract that pertains to pay. Horizon, nor can G4 offer more pay to new hires without an LOA from our union. Offering pay for one select group violates the contract. Or they can try and do what Horizon did before their TA now, and offer a no strings attached one time lump sum of money before officially becoming an employee.

The $20 raise is more believable.

The company doesn't have the ability per the CBA to modify just first year pay, they'll have to modify them all or we will never vote for it. The rumor is that we'll be getting the raise so we can be competitive At the job fairs. Once Spirit gets the rates they want we'll be back feeding on the bottom.

Seems like hiring is doing just fine and they don't plan growth until the end of the decade, so the need is low. Once the end of the decade hits, so does contract negotiations, and that will probably be a good motivation for higher pay.
