2020 plan shows 25 classes of 60...

Not sure how they can get everyone trained. Flight Academy instructors are already working triple overtime.

They aren't in Charlotte. Those guys feel like they hardly work now... At least that's how it was in July

1500 new hires?

Has any airline, ever, hired that many in one year?

Apologies, a max of 60 each class. 1100-1500 next year.

No, according to the table, the largest was 1206 by Delta in 2016. The highest AA hired was in 2000, 1171.

Indeed, in these two decades of records, there have only been a handful of times an airline hired 1000 in a year. No one has done it sustained, year after year.

That's still pretty darn impressive.
It will be fun to watch when the Big 3 all have to do the same, every year, for almost a decade.

Some say, it's a good time to be a pilot. I'd say, it'd be even better time to be in the simulator manufacturing business

With all the retirements and dudes on ltd they have no choice but to try and hire 1500. Wait, if they dont we are going to get screwed on the line.

it looks like Delta is opting to hire as young as possible. Newest class ranged from 24 youngest, 42 oldest. Avg was 34. Probably wanting to get as many early mid 20s as possible to avoid more training for retirements. I think 27 was our youngest. She was a rockstar at pdt and hired outside the flow. definitely gonna be good for everyone who became a regional capt at 26 or younger.
