You get paid from Day 1. You get the average line value all through training, plus per diem, and distance learning pay for some other things you'll do on your iPad. They'll explain pay during indoc. Your year 2 pay doesn't happen until your training completion date. Ex., say your sim slot is 1 June and your projected completion date is 14 July; you'll go to year 2 pay on 14 July next year, not your DOH anniversary. Depending on your timeline, the company gets an extra 2-6 months out of you on year 1 pay it seems. Heard lots of grumbling about it in my extremely short time here. Hopefully it's something they're looking to change in negotiations now, but may be low-hanging fruit. Good luck!

It’s based on scheduled completion date, whether you actually complete on that date or not. I haven’t heard of anyone getting completion dates more than 3 months in the future (2 months awaiting training, about a month in training). If your training delays, more paid time off (at first year rates) but your 2nd year raise doesn’t move.

this seems to be the freshest hiring thread. with that said, two questions

1. is PRIA, background, all COMPLETE prior to the offer of a class date or prior to a CJO? The question is asked because I have heard from multiple people that if you got invited to the interview, AA has "already done their due diligence on you" reportedly.

2. since the background process will likely result in a phone call to your present employer, are guys submitting their resignations when they receive the CJO, or when they get a class date?

Thank you

1) they ask if you’d be willing to start class before PRIA is complete…..as long as you’re honest on your app, then nothing to worry about regarding PRIA.

2) Think most give notice when they give a class date. I personally wouldn’t want to go 2 months with no paycheck or insurance (sounds like it’s about 2 months for CJO to class). Unless you work for a small employer, I doubt they care if they get PRIA requests.

Trying to get home from training (A3) and need to connect. Is there a way to get my checked bag to its final destination, or do I need to re-check it for the second leg? Any help would be much appreciated.

If it's checked, it'll get to your destination; regardless of non-stop or connection.

That's the issue, I can't make a connecting A3 booking. It has to be two separate reservations... (Thanks to JetBlue now operating the non-stop between two major US cities).

Dang. Apologies. I didn't know that was a thing. Then, yeah, you'll probably have to recheck it. Hopefully smarter folks than I can help ya out.
