Wtf? Who told you that you need to report within 2 hours? The company tried to get 3 hours standardized but failed to do so. Less than 2 is crazy. AAL is not a regional. Our ****e contract may have many shortcomings but there’s no need to make it worse with self imposed callout times.

I gotta disagree. Follow the contract.

Uh, no. Stay at "home". Arrive "promptly" or whatever it says. I live 40 minutes from Charlotte, I take my merry time to get there on reserve. They've called me a few times wondering why I hadn't signed in yet...not your problem. We don't have a call out time.

A little birdie told me that the AA chief pilots are telling the probationary new hires at their base visit meeting that the company expects you to be there within 2 hours and while you can go over that in special circumstances, it better not be often or "there will be a problem". One guy actually had the balls to ask how often and he said "3-4 times a year".

They did try to emphasize a 2-3hr window at the base indoc.

I wonder if the anti-commuter Chief in CLT is still giving his spiel about not using the commuter policy.

great culture building from the start. you breed an employee that will remember they were lied to for the next 20-30 years.
