This is 100% accurate. At AA, if you aren’t in the top 20% of your four part bid status, expect very little quality of life. If you’re. It in the top 60% expect none.

That’s a bit dramatic. I’ve gone from 95% to 25% in my seat over the years and seen the differences. QOL is all very dependent on where you are based and what you want to fly. Very junior people in large statuses seem to have a lot of success and modifying their schedules if they are willing to try.

Very dramatic. I’m 60% in seat after less than two years here. Live in domicile. I’m awarded mostly 2-3 day trips and an occasional 4 day with no more than 2 legs/day each via PBS. I might get one trip touching a single Saturday or Sunday, with the rest of the weekends off. I’m able to trade/drop all of the 3+ day trips for weekday 2 days and turns with minimal effort.
I’ve found the loudest complainers are also those who put zero effort into improving their schedules, don’t take the time to learn how to use PBS/TTOT, and/or are delusional about their relative seniority.
That doesn’t mean AA is free of problems- we have a long way to go.

NB G2 CA... 67% in base, lineholder, most weekends off, most holidays off, 15-16 days off a month, 80-85hrs, easy trips.
MUCH easier gig than any G4 WB FO killing themselves through 5 time zones to 3rd world countries trying to get through to ATC.
Group 2 Domestic CA is, to me, the easiest and most relaxing gig I’ve had in 22 years of airline flying.

Not even close to being accurate.

The key to ATC is to get rid of the cool Southwest slang and use ICAO English. No "lower", but descend, no "higher", but climb. Really not that difficult.

No thanks. You can have all the domestic crap. I'd rather be down south than flying all this regional depressing domestic bullocks.
