Yes, but how could the company change the terms of the agreement without letting you return so not sure how much distrust would play into it. Those were all good points to consider and like the answer to almost every other question/dilemma in life, it's usually "it depends...."

Third airplane or Ferrari? How about trying to recover from the ‘80s mergers, ‘90 financial and oil spikes, 9/11 with its divorces, various family tragedies and the termination of their “safe pensions” and the 2008/9 financial crisis. How would you like to be looking at retirement right now with the hit your 401k just took and if your LAA the potential of your pension being turned over to the PBGC, LUS east the tiny pension is at the PBGC and LUS west- no pension?

If I were old enough, I’d take it, but I understand if some don’t think it’s the best decision for them and their family.

Early in my career I was blessed to fly with captain’s that went through their chapter 7. I headed their words and I’m so thankful. Learn from those that made mistakes ahead of you.
I have flown with numerous Captains at AA that brag about their airplane fleet, classic cars, beach houses, mountain cabins, sailboats, etc. I never hear much complaint about retirement funds compared to the amount of bragging I hear about their toys and properties. So based on that, I don’t see much grief from those close to retirement.

I never said that these folks “should” take a sacrifice to themselves to benefit others. That is their ultimate choice. I simply meant that I hope that many are in a position to take the early retirement so that others that cannot may get benefit.

Rumors spreading through WhatsApp & Facebook are that two AA F/As have died from COVID-19. Company is trying to keep this quiet.

We need the option to fly. No questions asked. Passengers need to understand that they may or may not get to their destination. Based on flight crew willing to subject themselves to the risk.
The flights that are accepted then need have additional pay based on increased risks.
Management doesn’t like it? Fly the sick people yourself.
If this is just the flu, then why don’t I see our fearless leaders in the terminal or on my flights?
