What's happening to this place?

A G4 captain on short call or a G2 captain who holds a line will make over $100K more than the VPLOA pays. Thats a little more than just beer money.

I'm not in a position to have to make that decision, but I would never question anyone's decision to take it, or not. Not everyone here has had a golden career. There are some guys in their 50's, that may be staring down their third furlough.
You got it. The most senior have lost the most for all the reasons you have stated. Now in the prime earnings of said pilots career they have to decide on a pay cut or full pay. Yes the pay cut is sitting at home but it’s still a pay cut and retirement cut because it’s the same percentage of a smaller amount. I feel for those guys/gals and what the last 25 years has dealt them.

Just saying everybody's position is different. I can only wish I was in a position to make such a decision.
If one has that kind of debt that close to retirement, they have a major problem.

What company will pay you roughly $180,000 a year for 3 years, plus 16% of that into your retirement, full medical/ dental, and all other benefits to sit at home and not work?

Who in this world wouldn’t love that and not think twice about jumping all over it?

I’d take it in about three seconds, then order an AirCam kit in the next three seconds.

I have a carry-in trip for MAY that is currently "failed continuity" on my schedule but shows a total p/c for that day of 6.54 on May 2nd. My question is if that trip gets "XR" on my HI1 am I pay protected for that portion of the trip on top of the 55hrs for a 1 month VSTLOA? Also i have recurrent training May 17 - May 20th on my HI10 right now, what happens to that pay if they cancel it like they just did for everyone's training events before May 11? Am i pay protected for that above the 55hrs if awarded the VSTLOA? Thanks.
