It amazes me how many pilots give traffic to these lowlife “investor” articles

Choosing to buy stock in a public company is a far different decision than choosing to work for one. You are absolutely correct, stock picking articles are nearly useless for answering the questions pilots are interested in.

Is this a good time to invest in airline stocks? I would say no. If this demand environment continues long enough it's conceivable every airline files bankruptcy. That will be a bumpy road for employees but if restructuring debt is the only way to get expenses in line with revenue then it must be done.

It also amazes me that the OP only comes into the AA forum when he finds bad news articles to post. I guess he got the rejection letter after the interview and has the typical vendetta. Pretty pathetic for a fractional guy.

In his defense, it was an article about...AMERICAN....where else is he gonna post it?

I'm retired USAirways/AA, then did a stint at NetJets. If my newsfeed has a good news article I post it. But just by it's nature "breaking news" is usually not good news. I was a Message Board Manager at USAirways, my job was to post the news and of course be a "Romper Room Nanny". ALPA bought me a subscription to Aviation Daily and I would glean articles from that and other sources.

I don't post as much here as I was, I've started spending quite a bit of time refurbishing donated computers over at MakerSpace. We then give them to charities and needy families with school age kids. We had an event 2 weeks ago that was covered by a local TV station. We gave away 27 computer systems in a little over an hour, matching the system with the ages/grade levels of the kids. We now have a waiting list over 40 families long so I'm going over to MakerSpace almost everyday. CLT schools are going to be virtual only when they open shortly so big demand for systems. They were going to do a hybrid school schedule until a survey of parents found 50% would not send their kids to classrooms.

I have never seen a positive article posted from you here. That said, you aren’t posting things we already haven’t seen or know about. Why even post that? We have pilots who are seriously worried/stressed and while negative articles are all around us right now, posting them does no good. What do you think is being accomplished by doing so?

Good on volunteering. Most everyone, including myself, does some sort of outside philanthropy work. I don’t/wouldn’t ever mention it (especially in a random online forum) because it’s done to not gain kudos from or impress your peers, it’s done to be a good humanitarian to others and to better yourself inside. But, good for you to use it to show how noble you are.

I post news because I have the time to do so and it was something I've done as a union volunteer in the past. Other than my current volunteer work I have no demands on my time. Most members here are still working, have families, etc., and don't have time to spend an hour or two a day reading the news. And trust me, if I saw a story about AA that had good news I'd post it immediately. If the mods asked me to stop posting news I would. I'm trying to be helpful, not a PITA. I realize a lot of the guys are stressed, I was furloughed twice at USAir (aka the incredible shrinking airline). I think it's still better to be informed. And no one is making anyone else read the news. Also keep in mind a lot of these articles are more opinions than news so you have to take them FWIW.

And you're right, most members here do some kind of volunteer work. I only mentioned it for 2 reasons, one why I'm not posting as much news as I did, and two, mainly because I was hoping some CLT based pilots might read it and be interested in helping. MakerSpace is less than 10 minutes from KCLT and is open 24/7 if you have the key fob. Also a great place to go if you're into woodworking, metal working, 3D Printing, or Laser Cutting (we're up to 4 LC's now). Bring earplugs or an ANR Headset, you'll need it at least part of the time.

You're a retired airline pilot. Do you really think there was anything in that article that AA rank and file pilots aren't aware of?
I don't know if you were ever furloughed, but I suspect the answer's no. It puts a lot of stress on people and you're just piling on to that stress. You show absolutely zero empathy to those pilots still working for a living - from your posts, I am sure you were quite a few pilots' do not fly list.
And no, I dont work for American.

And here's a news flash for you - every single airline is moving closer to bankruptcy. I don't know which one goes first, but I've got some ideas and the first one that stands out is not American.

Really...Numbers show American every time.
