Worries about a B6/AA merger. Could this happen? While it doesn’t appear AA is is in a financial position to buy an airline, theoretically the idea could be sold to investors. 2021 should be very interesting.

Here we go again, not gonna happen any time soon. AA will likely need to get through CH11 proceedings first, and any attempt to buy B6 would start a bidding war. The airline that wants to join B6 will have to pay a premium, and there is no way AA will win that battle with AA debt. B6 has good financials and doesn't need a merger, they will likely grow while AA shrinks to either avoid CH11 or go through a restructure.
