Default AA cuts 100,000 flights

Does this change current furlough announcements and future plans?

What is the current count of furlough and ztl?

how do you scoop up those scraps if you are cutting flights

Soon as I heard the AA news I knew it was wrong. Typical journalism.

I agree, the age of journalism caring anything about facts is DEAD! Remember the days of journalists like Thomas Petzinger who knew so much about the industry that he wrote a book about his years of reporting called Hard Landing which I read as an impressionable lad and learned quite a bit about this industry from the 70's-80's. There really isn't anything written anymore in "journalism" outlets that remotely catalogs the facts without incorrect spin, or complete misunderstanding. It's sad that nowadays the companies PR releases and SEC reports are the most truthful sources of actual information.

As a society, we decided that quality journalism isn't worth paying for. We want our news fast and we want it for free.

And we want it to agree with what we already believe.

media is funded by advertising. advertisers want eyes on ads.

While I agree with your post for the most part, if that was the only thing that mattered then the story about the "Big Guy" would have gotten a lot more traction.
