Right, he was the guy who made calls for oil to “skyrocket” this fall. How about just admitting your excessively pessimistic views are not correct. Not just him but plenty of doom and gloomers on here. Having a realistic point of view has no place on these forums it seems. I’m not exactly optimistic about 2023 but I also don’t believe the incredibly bearish/depressionary calls that are out there. Global recession BTW is bearish for oil, good for airlines.

Its not 2023 yet… I hope I’m wrong. I don’t think a recession in 2023 will be calamitous for the airlines. I think things may pause a bit with hiring or potentially accelerate for the airlines with the cash position to hire through the downturn (not AA). I’ve actually been consistently correct on most things I’ve posted on this forum over the years. Covid I was wrong about but who can predict 3 government bailouts? And the trillions pumped into the economy will have consequences. Time will tell.

HAHA well not you! Hence you should take a second and reflect on how little you actually know. Of course you won’t. That would take intellect and self awareness. Btw do you think DAL and UAL would’ve been just fine without the payroll support act and gov loans? Put the pipe down pal.

No. My original post that was quoted above was alluding to the fact that if AA is in trouble, all 3 legacies are in trouble.

That’s okay though El Peso, you can go back to talking down to your brethren APA pilots in other threads for daring to speak out loud about their thoughts and reasons for wanting to leave your dear American Airlines. You defend AA vociferously almost any chance you get. Even when it makes no sense because you’re too dense to realize (as in this case) that no one is saying anything particularly negative about them.

I wish you all well. We’ll all be fine. And if not that’s okay too. Economies ebb and flow. Se est la vie.

Chris is a good dude, and while we ALL got very tired of his constant "gEt YoUr HoUsE iN oRdEr!" Posts, he did good during his time at PSA. Good communication when alot of pilots needed to hear it. He doesn't sugar coat and I respect that, doesn't mean we all have to agree, but he's a brother in the industry.

Now excuse me while I have to get back to "getting my house in order" preparing for AAGs portfolio collapse.

I call out people for saying nonsense, like you. Also idiots who say hyperbolic nonsense like AA is a big regional. Besides that I am always the first to call out our operational, customer service, and profitability issues. Also I call out parts of our contract that lag out peers like profits sharing. But I won’t pretend that “we literally have no work rules” like those same idiots mentioned above will surely claim.

I’m fairly confident we are already in recession and by the end of 2023 maybe early 2024 the economic recovery will actually begin. We probably won’t notice it in the airlines because peoples habits have changed and I believe air travel is prioritized right now vs consumerism. This is a great stock market buying opportunity for long term investors no matter how you cut it. I also think the outrageous calls for exploding oil are hyperbole. I saw same calls for oil from energy bulls in 2008 and what happened.. If all you listen to are doomsday pushers it will put a black cloud over your head. The reality is we will bounce back.

Do you need even know what a recession is? The Atlanta Fed is predicting 4.3% Q4 growth, that’s not a recession. We had a mild recession in Q1 and Q2 this year with negative gdp in both quarters but the White House changed the definition of recession for political reasons. There’s always another recession on the horizon but the numbers don’t indicate that it is anytime soon.
