Excargodog and chrisreedrules aren’t going to be happy. Especially with UAL in more debt that AA now.
Halfway toward our debt reduction goal
In July 2021, we announced our goal to reduce our total debt by $15 billion by the end of 2025, and we’re making serious progress. Yesterday, we paid off some loans, totaling $1.175 billion. That puts us on track to pay off more than $7.5 billion of the $15 billion target by the end of this year, just 18 months into the program.

Haha. True. This is good to see. Sure, lots of issues that need fixing, but this is why our profit margins will be in the sub 500 mill range for a bit longer I'm sure. I'm fine with it. Financial health is a good thing. Of course, then they need to pay up or shut up with a TA on our terms.

I’m not sure where the Atlas and Frontier info came from. But that is untrue. I interviewed with Kalitta in 2020 (or 21? I can’t remember anymore) and got a TBNT.
And again, what extreme predictions am I making? To repeat, I said if AA is in trouble then all 3 legacy airlines are in trouble.
I am a former Eagle pilot that is thankful that he didn’t flow to AA and grateful to fly for an airline with solid labor representation and a history of leading the industry in compensation and contractual provisions. I quite frankly feel awful for you and the rest of the APA pilots that you have to put up with what you’re putting up with from your labor leadership. It’s not supposed to be that way and it isn’t that way at most other airlines.
Have a nice day El Peso. I’m not 100% sure what I’ve said or done to earn your ire but you sure do seem to take this exact same position with other people on here too. If there’s something else in your life generating this need to lash out online you can feel free to PM. I know I’m a stranger but I’m always willing to listen.

All three posts are the same topic. Did you get on here to just post that one point? Do you have other thoughts? Welcome aboard.

Thanks, but I’m not really new here. I used to post a lot years ago when I was at eagle. I’ve been lurking for a while but didn’t know my login anymore so I didn’t post. Just decided to make a new one finally. I have lots of thoughts but just shared the ones that seemed relevant to the thread. Day to day life at AA has noticeably changed since Covid, in my opinion. I know it is cliche to say it is like a big regional or a credit card company that uses planes to trap its customers. But there are reasons those cliches exist and persist. I feel strongly enough about it too post what I posted. It is only my opinion, I’m sure not all agree with me. But if I were a pilot applying to both AA and DAL I would want them to know what I and others think about AA. Delta management knows what they’re doing with this offer, and they know how much lower AA was trying to give us. Why didn’t they just offer AA plus a little bit? Why did they triple the value? They know AA can’t afford to pay down debt fast enough and offer a similarly valued deal. AA knows this too, which is why they are hemming and hawing about paying up now. They also know we don’t have the pilot unity to stand up to them. I just can’t see us getting a deal with nearly the same value as Delta’s, ever. Add in the profit sharing and in my opinion, a new hire will make substantially more money over the course of their career at Delta.
