Right now, if you are well qualified, I would expect something in 3-9 months. Going to a job fair is about the only way to really make it any faster. There will be hundreds hired at the upcoming job fairs in the next 6 months.

Last update was we are planning to hire 2000+ pilots again in 2024, but on the earnings call this morning management acknowldged that overall hiring will slow in 2024 compared to 2023. Unclear if this will affect pilot hiring. Regardless, American has more retirments by a huge margin vs Delta and United. Growth at all 3 airlines will be limited by manufaturer constraints and infrastrucutre limitations. The most reliable indicator of movement is attrition above you. Removing other variables (living in base, etc.) American is the best place to be for quality of life progression.
