What does a typical line look like? Average/min days off. More 3 day trips 4 day trips? How doable are 1-2 day trips etc?

it really depends on what base and plane you are on...and even then it can vary from month to month. I can only speak for CLT/320 bc that is what I am on...top 33% you can expect to get 1 and 2 days if you want and about 16-18 days off..next third is 3 and 4 days with about 15-17 days off and bottom third is 4 and 5 day trips with 15-16 days off...the trip mix follows a very linear pattern in CLT, meaning 1 days most senior down to 5 days most junior. There are some outliers here and there bc of commuters and personal preferences but for the most part if follows that progression. Short Call RSV with weekends off on the FO side also goes pretty senior, just off the top of my head estimate you need to be 60 percentile or better overall to hold that type of schedule. Some months because of the trip optimizer we get a lot of 5 day trips which personally really sucks..however in a base like CLT with few commuters a lot chose the rsv life so holding a line can go relatively junior some months like the 80th percentile range or so...

Anybody know about LAX 73 or 320 FO? If you live in domicile and want to bid reserve is that doable fairly early? Also, how do the 73 trips compare to 320 trips for a junior FO? I know there’s lots of thoughts on the aircraft, but how do the trips compare?

You can get reserve if you want as a Jr pilot, if that’s your question. There will be a good amount of trips on both aircraft that start off with a red eye going east. That’s just the nature of a west coast base. LAX is one of those multi airport bases. Someone please correct me if I get this wrong here but the 737 covers LAX ONT & SAN, while the bus only covers LAX. If you’re on rsv, tracking understands that a drive is involved/and la traffic. You’ll get plenty of call out time. The Airbus goes to HNL LIH & OGG for a nice 24+ hour layover, the 737 does not. That’d definitely be a consideration for me personally if I was thinking about bidding LAX.

PHL you could get 3 day trips as a junior guy, and could swap into one days if you worked on it. Can also bid SC and proffer for one days.

Thanks. I’ve heard that LAX also includes John Wayne and Burbank. Is that true? Also does one type fly to South/Central America more? Just curious. I’m sure it will be great regardless.

737 does LAX ONT SNA SAN. Bus is only LAX. I don't know about the South America stuff but I'd guess not much from LA.

someone correct me if I am wrong but the LAX /737 is domestic only so no Central American or South America flying for them on their trips..Lax/airbus is international category so trips could have those destinations....good and bad associated with both, eye of the beholder and all...
