it was literally a perfect storm of some minor weather delays, end of month and everyone being maxed out, and the end of the month combined with Halloween falling on a weekend. There is no sickout and the delay codes are there for anyone who works at AA to see, just like others have pointed out. Supposedly we have 1,000 FAs not trained up from furlough yet, plus something like 600 being hired/trained right now...you can get FA staffing up to speed a heck of a lot faster than you can pilot staffing...I would expect pilots ability to make lots of money to continue well into the new year. It will be interesting to see what happens around the 23rd of this month bc no amount of PM is going to get me off the couch during Thanksgiving, ditto with Christmas...I am sure some will, but how many??
