Nah. Weather and staffing. Reserve pilots are timed out for the month and we inexplicably still have well over 1000 FAs out on furlough. Most of the staffing cancelations are FAs

I rather make the big bucks now when I am young, then when I have one foot on the grave as pilots don't have a long life longevity. Just my two cents.

The wind in DFW caused hundreds of long delays and cancellations on Friday. If you don't have extra staffing laying around and everyone is working full schedules already, it is hard to recover.

Imagine being scheduled within just a few percent of your max duty, and then there are delays. Everything fall apart.

"High Winds", per the COO.

METAR/TAF's easily available online for the past 120 hours. Looked like peak winds on one day in the 20-30 range, with a couple hours of gusts into the 40s.

I could see where if your roster is thin enough, this could snowball into problems with too many diversions. The temptation to run an ultra-lean pilot/fa staffing formula is universal across major airlines. Looks good..until it doesn't.
