Imagine being scheduled within just a few percent of your max duty, and then there are delays. Everything fall apart.

METAR/TAF's easily available online for the past 120 hours. Looked like peak winds on one day in the 20-30 range, with a couple hours of gusts into the 40s.
I could see where if your roster is thin enough, this could snowball into problems with too many diversions. The temptation to run an ultra-lean pilot/fa staffing formula is universal across major airlines. Looks good..until it doesn't.
