it is my experience that this is the case +90% of the time as well….not sure how many people are willing/voicing their desire to waste much negotiating capital on improving something that is already pretty much industry standard when so many other areas are substandard…if someone needs 16hrs to get into position maybe a switch of bases with a better commute is a good idea, fortunately we have 10 bases across all time zones to choose from….I sat short call in a Phl crash pad my first 2 years before I could get CLT and then moved my family there…best decision of my professional life, EVER.

is there a list of the AA domiciles ranking their seniority? If no, that info would be great, thanks!

how would you rank their seniority? FO? CA? Lowest seniority number? Most jr to hold a line? Most jr at 80% or 50%? Wide body? 737? You see where I going with this. For instance LGA has the most jr NB CA, but for a low seniority 320 CA, DFW gets you more people below you. It’s pretty nuanced.

What specifically are you interested in?

Sorry, I'm pretty new haha. To answer the last question, big picture, Id like to end up in CLT and I'm just attempting to get a general idea of how long it would take to become a line holder at CLT, whatever would be most junior (737 or 320, Im not sure). Im also not sure how the transition to CA from FO exactly works and how that works in with lines and domiciles, just asking questions. Thanks for the help (and the meme)

I'm almost 3 years on property. I don't have a line in Charlotte.

Ok,

CLT is generally pretty senior for FO’s but it does ebb and flow. Generally, the 320 is your best bet there because it is a large bid status. You will likely hold CLT within about 1 to 2 years, as an FO, though it has gone to new hires in the past (like 7 years ago past). CA will likely be 6 to 9 years, but probably will drop by the time you get to that point. If you live in CLT, then AA is a no brainer for you. It’s our second largest hub, are you a regional pilot, corporate, or military?

These thing change constantly though, and I wouldn’t worry about it in your decision matrix.
