vitamin All joking aside… welcome to AA. You won’t regret your decision. Despite all the negativity this place is still leaps and bounds better than the regionals. 22 years here so far and have had way more fun than sorrow. Lots of stuff still needs fixing though. Overall a great group of pilots as you’ll soon find out. See ya on the line!
LOL!! That was good. Thanks for the reality check too.

Unlike my old regional pairings vary wildly from base to base/equipment to equipment. Charlotte has a decent variety of flying. My old regional had some good things and I miss that seniority I had but most things better here and mainly reserve is actually pretty good life. You can put in for trip that starts one day before your reserve day and the entire trip is paid on top of the guarantee. Few things like that make a big difference. 24 hours in Aruba or Grand Cayman hell yeah. With option to just to some wide body the rest of your life at some point. Although CLT most senior base.

thanks. That last sentence learned me something. I didn’t know CLT was the most senior domicile. I wonder if that will equate to the most movement at some point because of retirements?

Any idea where the second and third most senior domiciles are? I hear there’s not much movement in PHX.

seniority in regards to what? To hold a NB FO line? To Upgrade? To widebody?

a lot of bases will look way different in a few years in all categories. I think the only known is that NYC will be junior. Haha

but that might change if they do The A321 XLR to cool places out of there… doubtful

Probably the former two… hold a NB line and upgrade. Widebody sounds amazing but I think the NB is a personal best fit.

That said, you’re right…things are dynamic, things will change.

Vitamin,

He's not wrong. Al Czervik couldn't look him in the eye until he bid the 737!

AA73 is right. A great bunch of folks here.

CLT has been senior my entire career and probably will be until after I'm gone. I've been through 4 mergers and it doesn't take long for folks to see that it is decent place to live, relatively low cost of living, lakes here and the mountains or coast a few hours away. A little too humid July-Sept for me, but otherwise pretty good weather.

[reposting because I think my first got moderated...i have no idea why]

Seniority in regards to the former two ... NB FO line and NB upgrade. I love the idea of a widebody but the narrowbody a better fit for me at this juncture in my career.

And you're right, things are pretty dynamic so, who knows in a couple few years! ))

All things being equal, stay the same etc., hiring pace has most people getting a NB line around 6 mos, LGA peeps sooner. This includes training, so actually only on reserve for 3 to 4 months on average right now.

Upgrade is still floating around 3 to 4 yrs. As you know this is base/equip dependent and of course what you want to do. The fleet downsizing had some senior folks go back to NBs from the 75/76/330 so some bases have seen a "slow down."

15 yrs is a solid amount of time for more earnings and great QOL. Myself as an example, Dec hire, should have a line in July, 71% seniority. Have a few buds who came from Skywest that were in a similar boat to you and they're happier here they say. Good luck. DM if you want any more help/more personal concerns.

You mean the muscular finger because of the times you forgot to carry your own rubber band required to speak to the other pilot.
