Well then..I’ve been told differently. Might have been one they pulled out of long term storage that hasn’t been modified. Word from the CKA and schoolhouse is they’re all done.
These are the “block 1” aircraft exclusively - 3AA to 3DL, the ones with the old HUD and manual radar. I’ve flown several of these in the last year and they had the new intercom panel.
Thanks for pointing that out.

Hoping to get some QOL insight from those who’ve been at AA for 1-5 years-ish. I’m a long timer (20 years) at SkyWest and am grateful to have been offered a job with AA. Ill soon be 50 and trying to weigh my options.
I know the money is there. Second year at AA I’d make more money than my annual income at SkyWest at 20+ year pay scale … crazy.
But how’s life? How are the pairings? How many days home are you getting? Are you able to swap and drop? Happy at AA?
Id love to see some anonymous monthly schedules and parings … maybe an email or private message? I know the questions are domicile/aircraft dependent but I’d probably be placed into CLT or MIA and obviously the 737 or 320.
Thanks in advance.

Hey former SkyWest quasi lifer here. I bailed after 15 years at age 53 for SWA and couldn't have made a better decision. Enjoyed my time there but with every year came erosion of QOL. To make the story short, basically EVERYTHING is better. You've probably been chasing everything around as a Capt just to get the plane off the gate. Enjoy making more in the right seat, as the operation largely takes care of itself, do your job and go home. I also like the larger picture, the ownership mentality, travel benefits on your airline not subject to the approval of some mainline overlord. Altho every airline is kinda the same with the cultural split between corporate Hdq people and those moving the metal, you'll be glad to be out from under the geniuses in SGU.
