Scheduling “glitch”
We not gonna talk about the open time “glitch”? Was it an actual glitch or a hero scheduler? Adding the pairings back to the affected crews is not cool either…looks like a Bigly grievance coming https://www.npr.org/2022/07/02/11095...anceled-glitch

2,000 sequences (37,000 flight hours) were inadvertently dropped from line holding pilots schedules. Pilots love it because now they can build back their schedules to suit themselves (at premium pay) Company is f’d because now their summer staffing crisis just went from bad to holy fu)k sh!t this is terrible.
Solution? American Airlines decided to unilaterally put those dropped trips back on the affected pilots schedules. Trips that were legally dropped through our antiquated system.
Union put out and email a few hours ago (LAX reps) to not show up to fly anything that was contractually dropped. The company’s problems are not yours.
If American Airlines wants a fix to this circus, they know where to sign. And it ain’t on an LOA it’s on a brand new industry leading contract.

Because the guys with only a few years left want to get extra money while they can. Many have been screwed five times over. I really don’t blame them. I understand it.
I blame the younger crowd that do it out of pure greed and ignorance. They (we) are the ones screwing ourselves over the long term. If you are a 35 year old, 12000ish FO that is picking up premium you are screwing yourself long term.

yes, but this time the company started to just put it back on our schedules, a la George Costanza acting like he never quit. This one will be tricky because they will settle on a premium number for those affected, but you will still have some holdouts.
