No, but bidding is done by oldest to youngest. I would not expect to see DCA below 50.

There are 400+ FOs in PHL. The 6 mos planning #, last I saw, has been floating around 346 or 347. The pattern seems to be to get fat in prep for the next vacancy. They'll have 30 or 40ish bid out and then the new hire tap will get opened again.

Why is that?

At least for the last six months that I have been here, DCA has usually only had 2-3 slots available per class so they tend to get picked relatively early. Although sometimes there are more slots. For example in my Indoc class there were 6 DCA Airbus available and the last one was picked up by a pilot in his 20's. So you never know. But even if you don't get DCA in class it will easily be available on your first vacancy bid.

I got DCA (my 2nd option as phl went faster than I thought) and I'm 38 and was bidding #16 in my NH class for bases.

On average how many new hires per class?

Usually 45-50. Class drop aircraft and bases is equal to the number in each class so you can go back and count the last several classes.

53 in last class? Damn, those are big numbers if it’s one class every week.

Think they plan on 2000+ hires in 2023
