And then the classes start back up the first week in January? Got a CJO 18 July and my current availability is December 1 due to military obligations. Trying to get an idea of when I will actually start. How early do new hires get assigned class dates?

I'm also military and have a start date at the start of December. I haven't heard anything about no classes in December except for that one guy who said it without a source. I also know they had a class last December because I know someone who was in it. I am fully expecting for both of us to start the first week of December.

Mil as well with a CJO and a mid-Feb availability date. How far out did you receive your class date? And did they reach out, or did you have to initiate? Thanks.

I don't have a date yet and have not been contacted. A guy that guy hired with me got called a couple days ago and was told he was in the class at the start of Sept. So it seems like a month out or so.

Don’t plan on starting in December. American hasn’t had December classes for a while. It’s pretty standard. Your friend may have been in training during December, but definitely didn’t have a December class date.

It may take some digging, but if you look back through threads you can confirm this. It got quite a bit of thread time because with the numbers American said they were hiring most people thought they would have December classes. Didn’t happen.

By the same token, all June classes were cancelled as well. The classes sizes have been pegged at 60 per week now to still get the same numbers this year based on no June or December classes.
