Hey group, do we need to complete both success factors application as well as the pilots.aa.com?
For some reason I received a email after completing the pilots.aa.com app saying I needed to create an account on success factors. Any insight? Thanks! |
I never got an email about the website change, and when I went to go make an account on the new website, it didn't have any of my info... Not sure my status is.
Edit: For that matter, doesn't look like I ever got an email from pilot credentials, even though I had a completed app did the pilot skills test. At least I can't find anything in my inbox. |

There are parts of the forms which are preventing me from completing the application without intentionally putting incorrect data in there. You can't select non-military for any of the employment history. Also, when you check the box for "current employer" it grays out the end date, which is great, but then Errors and says you need to have a Start date, which is already filled out. It also doesn't allow you to check a box for current address - it wants an end date there, too. Hoping they fix it soon. |
I could not get the certifications, or pilot questionnaire bubbles to stick using safari. I finally used chrome and that seems to have done the trick. I don't see where there's a final submit function. I guess I'm done?

Pilot Recruitment just emailed me and said the glitch where you HAVE to enter military, ie Guard/AD/Reserve for it to save under employment has been fixed.

The “help email on the App has been surprisingly responsive as of late; very contrary to just about every other airline email I’ve had. They’re working on fixing the fact that your academic achievements won’t save after you type them, they’re working on getting a submit button so you can work on your app but actually SUBMIT it once it’s complete, and several other things they appear to have left out. I had a positive conversation (via email) today and essentially brain dumped every glitch and every concern that’s been noticed here and elsewhere with the application website. Whoever it is that’s responding to me has been super responsive and has said they know there are issues and are diligently working to correct each one and perfect it. I feel like I’ve done my part for everyone today; you’re welcome!😜

I got an email to do the skills test even though I didn't think that I submitted the application. Finished my app and then did the skills tests. Anyone else have this yet?

I’m thinking since the skills test is no longer in the app, that literally as soon as you fill out “something” you get the link to take it.
|
I got the email asking to take the skills test but to disregard if previously completed (although no mention of pilot credentials site) Would it be worth retaking the PST on this new site? I didn't do my best last time I completed it. I also tried logging into the careers site to sign up for text updates, but that site is telling invalid login. Do I have to create yet another account for the careers site? The email I received led me to believe my new pilots.aa.com login would allow me to access the careers site.

All systems work great and should be promoted above peers. I support them 100%.

unable to submit application
Has anyone been able to submit their application in the new pilots.aa.com site? I've apparently completed all sections, but can't seem to find a submit, sign, publish button anywhere. I haven't been able to contact the team through the recruiting email either.
Thanks, |
There is no submit button as of yesterday…once you complete some unknown % of the application you will get an acceptance email and the Pilot Skills test link within a day or so. If you didn’t get one, keep working on filling out the app until you get one. For me, it was logging in to Chrome (instead of Safari) and fixing all of the radio buttons. I got the email shortly after.
FYI, I don’t *think* you need to fill out all the blanks on the Success Factors site I think it’s only to enter your phone # for updates. |
I see a Save and Submit bar at the bottom of every page using Opera desktop browser. On mobile Safari I dont even see the menus on the left.

Email
I got this email recently, about a year after doing my application. Anyone else get this and if so what did it lead to? Is this like a fix it email?
It started with this: “We are excited that you have started the application process to becoming an American Airlines Pilot. To ensure that we have everything we need to properly evaluate your application, please log in to your Pilot Credentials profile, update your information, ensure that the “Published” box is checked, and then save your changes.” |
Few questions about the new set up:
How do we add other education that's not specific to the category listed? There seems to be no other tab like PC had. How do internals work now? |
IRT other Education; you don’t. I feel you, I have plenty as well, but it doesn’t fit so clearly they’re not interested. FYSA PC used to lock up if you filled the app out like you would in Delta’s application (for military) with 50-60 different instances of additional education.
For LORs, you add them as an attachment. The previous way of having AA employees submit no longer goes to HR. |

Has anyone heard if we have to do the Skills test again if we've previously completed it on pilots credentials? I got an email saying "you've been selected to move forward in our application process" and it was to do the pilot skills test. However, it also said if you've previously completed the test to disregard the email. I'm assuming they meant the test on pilot credentials. Anyone have any insight?
|
I agree that if you’ve done it, I can’t see why you’d need to again. I didn’t. I think the real question is, is AA going to the same process as SWA with the success.factors site where you literally have 2 websites with the same info to manage on a monthly basis.

If you completed it prior to 5/14 you do not need to re-do it. From recruitment…..

I see I have got to list both job title and job position on the new app. I am getting conflicting info online about this, would anybody care to provide some advice as to what they are looking for? Right now I basically have the duties listed in the job position.
|
Job Title: First Officer, Director of Operations, Chief of Safety, etc
Job Position: I routinely supervise the milking of both male and female chimpanzee in a controlled, safe environment; promoting cooperation amongst my coworkers, and a customer focused interaction with my clients. |
Virtual Interview after Pilot Skills Test
Wondering if anyone can tell me how long after you completed the Pilot Skills Test via emailed link, did you get the next email for Virtual Interview?
I just recently completed the test, and curious on average how long until the next step (so long as AA approves of your test score I guess). Thanks in advance. |

The Skills Test is just a portion of the application process and is not an indication of a pending interview. This is unlike Delta, for example. |
I have the entire app filled out but can’t find a “submit” button anywhere. Tried on safari and chrome, any ideas?

Anybody who has done the online PST test have a good prep service for it to recommend? Is it needed?

There were a couple modules that helped a lot, for me, to get my head around the methodology. Shape Sodoku in particular. |
Is there a way to know if you failed the assessment? I did the assessment under the old system a few months ago, then transferred all my info to the new portal, and haven't heard a peep even though people with no TPIC and similar hours are getting signs of life "go take the assessment now unless you've already taken it" and some even have interviews scheduled.
Just curious. If an assessment is failed, is there a window to take it again or is it a permanent show-stopper? |
I too have been sitting on a complete application in the new system for 4 weeks and have not yet received a pilot skills test invitation. Anyone else in this boat? Filled it all out in chrome and update hours several times per week.

I had 2 internal pilot recommendations on the old application website and am not seeing them on here anywhere. Does American have them saved internally somewhere now?
Had to transfer everything over manually from beginning to end but it’s not asking me to take the pilot skills test again so it appears that there is some carry over from the previous application website (could be wrong though). |

pilot adept assessment
After receiving an interview date, I got an email to fill out documents and at the bottom there is a "pilot adept assessment" that is for "work traits" .... is this a pass/fail type assessment that includes more coginitive testing or is it just a general personality survey?
