I logged in to update my hours and the site says this at the top of every section "Please update your primary current employer under the Employment section of your candidate profile."
I updated it, even though nothing has changed. I also logged in and out, still shows it. I'm using Chrome.

Anyone else seen this?

It is showing the same on my side, updated it and it shows the same. Going to email the recruitment office to see if they have any idea on it.

I got a response from the recruitment team. In their email they say "Thank you for reaching out. You will need to just click the box on which is your primary current employer. If that is selected, and it has Employment data saved then it has submitted your data. That banner is serving as a reminder to ensure that is completed. Let me know if you have any questions."

I guess it's just a generic make sure all your stuff is squared away.

Thanks for posting the update on that. Sounds like I’m all good.

Online Application Current Employer HELP!?

So I have everything filled out minus recommendations and attachments, but I am stuck on the Employment Section. I have a message at the top of the page that states, "Please update your primary current employer under the Employment section of your candidate profile." All of the boxes for my current employer are complete, except I don't know what to put for end date because I am still employed. If I check yes to both questions about "Is this your current employer?" and "Is this your primary current employer" the end date is grey which indicates to me I don't need to write anything but when I hit the save and submit button I still get an error. I've tried entering the current date, past dates, future dates, leaving it mm/dd/year (when I hit save and submit this block turns white indicating I should probably type something but nothing is working). So frustrated! If anyone has had the same problem and figured out how to solve it, has a contact number for HR, IT support, etc., anything please respond. If I'm totally missing the boat and perhaps messed something else up for this section because someone out there has done the same thing in the past I'm all ears because I am out of ideas. Thanks.

Let me add I have clicked the Help button and sent an email to pilot.recruitment.aa.com but have not received a response.

They recently changed some of the buttons relating to current employer on that page. I think the light blue banner at the top is to remind those that filled out the page prior to the page update to go back and fill in the new information.

On the day I went to update my employment section after the change, the page wasn't working correctly. I deleted all employers and reloaded them, but that may not have been necessary then, or now. I still get the blue bar on the top. I also got a call quickly for an in-person interview.

It appears that the blue bar is a reminder for everyone, not an indication of a problem on an application.

Break, break...

Can anyone figure out how to delete attachments once they're added? I've uploaded updated files in the Attachments section, but now I can't make the page remove the old ones. I've tried a few PC's using Chrome and Edge.

I recommend you submit your application using a PC with a Google Chrome browser. There seem to be issues with any other method.

Has anyone else not been able to get their information to migrate over from the old system to the Pilot Info section? When I log in, it says “Error updating pilot info” in a red banner across the top.

Then, when I enter the stuff myself, including ten years of address history, it won’t save/submit. Then, if I click one of the other sections (References, just for example) and go back to Pilot Info, all the information I just entered in the Pilot Info section is gone, including… you guessed it… ten years of address history… smh.

I’ve been using Chrome and probably over a dozen different PCs, with cleared caches, in different locations at this point. I’ve also tried other browsers just for good measure.

Anyone have a similar experience, or suggestion, please? Recruiting has been a dead end for resolution. Thank you.

Squadron LLC 08-20-2023 02:56 AM

I had trouble with that page, too. I screen printed my old information, deleted all everything, and re-entered the info. It's worked fine since.

On the new website, does it allow you to practice before taking the test or is it better to buy Cut-e software from a third party website like https://pilotassessmentprep.com/inte...ot-assessment/ to practice? Thanks!

I did 1 month of https://airlineassessmentprep.com/cu...d-assessments/ and thought it was well worth it. There is also a free cut-e site https://www.pilotest.com/en. The old pilot credentials site allowed you to practice each test for with a similar short example to be sure you understand the instructions. Not sure if anything changed on the new site.

If you got the TBNT email, does anyone know if they changed the eligibility to reapply timeframe to 6 months from what was previously 1 year? Also do they lock you out of the new application site if you try to keep the app up to date before becoming eligible to try again?

Hey guys, I made a new resume and had no trouble uploading it but I can’t seem to delete the old one. I’m just getting an error code when attempting to delete it and save and submit. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having the same issue uploading documents for my interview. I went in recently and found that all of my documents have been uploaded twice. When I go to delete 1 it deletes both copies. I tried to save and just try again uploading everything once but I am getting an error code. I think there is something wrong with the attachment section of the application. I have heard of other people having issues, luckily this is my first issue with the new system. I plan on explaining it to the recruiter during my zoom interview.

Same challenge here. I mentioned it at the video interview on Monday and no one seemed to mind. The interviewer also wasn't able to delete anything.

Updating your resume, in moderation, is usually is a good thing that shows interest. I added a date to subsequent files to remove confusion.

Hi everyone,

Regarding previous/current addresses, there is no option to select current address as primary residence. Just a start and end date. What date did everyone put for current address? Date you submitted application or make a date up in the future?
thanks!

If it is your current address...don't put an end date, then submit.

How long's the wait for the online assessment after completing the app? I submitted a month ago on a PC with Chrome and browsing history/cache cleared. I heard the assessment email is automatic so I don't know what I'm missing at this point.

best I can work out is there is not an answer to your question. For example, I updated my app and then received the email they were going forward with my application 8 days later.

Anyone else get an email today subject "Additional Information Needed on Your Application". Curious if that's just an automated email everyone received.

Anyone know if the Letters of Rec section on the new app replaces the AA internal rec system, or merely supplements?

BusBoe 09-02-2023 01:05 PM

ok so on this new website, I submitted all my info such as flight hours, education history, etc. Just press submit on each section.

There is no final "submit" button for the pilot app? is that all I need to do?

That is correct.

I don't believe it replaces the section entirely. Internals still exist.

Internals still exist but the applicant/candidate now can upload it on their profile/app page. As recommending pilots, the only way to now do it (used to be through aapilots) is through the form in Comply365, but it's the same as if the candidate uploads the letter themselves. Can't hurt to do both though.

This is correct, I was filling out my app on safari and when I completed everything I was still not getting the email saying that I submitted my Application. Best thing to do is use chrome and go through every section and then hit submit on each. once you've completed what the system wants you'll get the received application email followed by the skills test.

stevecv 09-04-2023 06:28 AM

All of my info on the new website is correct and up to date. I noticed though that on the career website, when I view my actual application my address is wrong and it says I haven't worked for a commercial airline (which I do currently) and there doesn't seem to be a way to update this specifically. I have checked all what I can edit and made sure its accurate, but on this form specifically its not editable and its inaccurate.

This is under candidate profile> jobs applied> pilot> job specific info > Application form. It's the application form that's inaccurate.

pilotairbusa 09-05-2023 10:09 AM

question, when I finished my application, on https://pilots.aa.com/, however, I received an email saying I can check the status with a link, but when I click that link to open this website https://jobs.aa.com , I'm trying to enter the same username and password used in the application web (https://pilots.aa.com/) and it doesn't recognize it

any ideas?

Hey y’all, so I’m currently with another major, I live in CLT. Looking to try and get an interview with AA. Just looking for some insight on maybe some reasons I should stay or join AA. Obviously the commuting is the biggest factor. We like Clt, are open to possibilities of moving but have a bit of our life setup in clt. Given the opportunity to not commute is a huge game changer but I feel as if there is more growth and opportunity with my current airline. We are both young with a lot of years in this career. Would appreciate any insight , thanks

Just an opinion, as always do what’s best for you. To me would depend. If you’re willing to move to one of your bases at your current major and have good seniority there do that. If you want to stay in CLT, I’d go to AA. It’s all about where you live and not commuting. Most likely you’ll catch up to same seniority at some point and maybe even pass your current. Really depends on the details of your current major.

if you are married and wife has family in CLT, I wouldn’t move and I’d go to AA.

Yeah it does make a lot of sense. She is also a pilot with one of AAs WO and wants to flow. Im currently on the airbus so airbus in CLT would be ideal. I imagine that a life in base at any major is better than commuting to one. Do you know what upgrade times are like on the bus in CLT?

Yea I always say #1 priority don’t commute.

Junior 320 CLT CA is 09/2019 hire with effective date of October 1st. It just recently became more junior. Now we’ll see what happens with the next vacancy out now. But the thing is we’re starting our big retirement numbers. 782 for 2024, 850s for 2025 and 2026, 758 for 2027. Slowly goes down from there. Things will continue to get crazy here with half the seniority retiring in the next 8 years. I would assume upgrades everywhere will continue to come down. Also you said you’re young. AA average age in new hires is 30s. And usually many older folks hired here. So folks in 20s hired today have crazy retirement numbers. A buddy is 27 started in August last month and will retire #115

NewbiePilot11 09-05-2023 07:56 PM

I’m currently at major 135 and flying roughly 50-60 hours per month as SIC and sitting around 500 turbine time. Is it worth upgrading into a different aircraft as PIC and gaining TPIC experience to help my application/resume? This would cause me to have to stop flying for roughly 3-4 months in order to go through upgrade training and get a new type rating. I know that 1000 turbine is “preferred” and just trying to get on with American as quickly as possible. Thanks!

Yeah it doesn’t seem like there is a wrong choice these days. I often hear a lot of complaining regardless of which airline it is, but are y’all generally happy working for AA and living in base? What are some of the big annoyances and anything that new contract fixed?

that’s a question you’ll get thousands of different answers. Everyone has their own version of QOL, happiness etc. some people are generally happy and some are just miserable people that will be miserable no matter where they work.

I’ve been here little over a year and I love it. I commute TPA-MIA moving to either East Florida (where I used to live) or Charlotte next summer. So my QOL will get even better. I fly with great people and haven’t had any issues really. I’ve got 1 re-assignment in the last year, it sucked and I called fatigue after. No issues or pushback from that. Any other times I got RO was way better schedule and either worked less or got home faster. I learned PBS and 90% of the time happy with my award so not much need for trading or dropping. But that’s my case. Again you’ll have many different answers. I’m semi IMAX this month so I have 20 days off and traded my trip 2 times and then it turned green so I could have dropped it but it’s an easy gold trip so kept it. Next month I’ll have 25+ days off, and November should have around 17 days off.

positive attitude is a huge factor in people lives. If you’re a negative miserable person you won’t be happy anywhere you are. Many many friends love it here, and many people hate it. Same at every company.

to me, if you hate it and miserable, why stay if you have 20+ years to go. If people think it’s flowers and rainbows at another legacy then giving up a few years seniority to a place that you say is amazing and best QOL etc etc would be an easy decision. But those people don’t do that especially when it’s the easiest time in history to make the jump when everyone is hiring. 🤷‍♂️

Solid wisdom right there. I’m leaning towards making the jump, my gut feeling tells me it’s the right move. Hopefully AA gives me the chance.
