Definitely PHL bus if it's available. Otherwise, take the bus in any base and odds are you'll be able to get DCA either on the monthly mutual base exchange or on a vacancy bid.

That said, alot of BWI flying lately seems to go 737 if you want to gamble on that thing.

3xp is showing me significantly more junior on the bus than the 737.

Guess it's shaken loose in the bottom half but the top is still about 1-1.5k more senior on the 73. Again a quick eyeball test

How do the base swaps work? I’ve heard they are monthly. So is there a way to see who is asking for what in the system? Can you have two preferences? (e.g. DCA and PHL)

Actually it's not. I would be more senior as an 737 FO in DCA than I am as a 320 FO. Additionally my seniority the last six months has stagnated somewhat as DCA 737 FO's bid over to the Airbus. Also after this last bid the most junior DCA 737 CA is quite a bit junior to the bottom DCA 320 CA.
FWIW if I was living just south of BWI and there were no 320 slots available in DCA I would bid 737. I know the aircraft gets a lot of hate here but I flew it for three years for a prior carrier. It's not that bad.

EDIT
I didn't see that an another poster had commented on this. Didn't mean to pille on...

few questions from me that have been asked before. I’d appreciate any feedback, and apologize for the redundancy.

I was just told that CLT 320 is the most junior in the company, and going to new hires. Is that true? From day 1 of indoc, could one expect to hit the line and maybe only see a few months of reserve? I will be commuting for a few years, so playing my cards in a base that would get the quickest line would be my move.

I was also told there was recently a 10-12 month upgrade awarded. Is that true? I am not interested in upgrading as the plug and sitting perpetual reserve forever, but how long on property is the most junior line holding narrowbody Captain?

also widebody FO: is it true that you could upgrade to narrowbody or take a widebody FO slot at about the same time?

thanks to anyone who can answer some of these.

All bases right now are possible for new hires. It varies month to month what is available to a drop.

im not going answer the rest of your questions unless you say you are asking for CLT only or company wide.
