PHL Reps poll/survey results
The results:
Age 65 survey.
The question was, do you support raising the retirement age from 65?
67% said No
33% said Yes
Here’s the breakdown (note: Philly has slightly over 1000 pilots):
513 total submissions
17 pilots answered not Philly based (which ended their survey)
1 bogus submission (using FO Drost’s employee number, who didn’t take the survey)
12 double submissions (these all happened within 24 hours of the second email going out asking pilots to take the survey, they answered the same as previously submitted, those votes were counted once, the value of the second email was minimal, next time we won’t send out a second email)
6 from other bases claiming to be Philly base (they were removed)
1 retired (this was removed)
2 unverifiable (the employee number was invalid, but bonus points for one pilot’s creativity).
474 valid submissions
156 were yes to raising the age from 65
318 were no to raising the age from 65
Merger Survey
The question was, should APA explore a merger with ALPA?
64.8% responded yes
35% responded No
and 1 pilot didn’t answer
Here’s the breakdown:
522 total submissions
16 bogus submissions (2 or more submissions for one employee number with differing answers. This was verified by asking the pilot which they preferred us to log)
15 pilots answered not Philly based (again this took them out of the survey with no further questions)
11 double submissions (like the other survey these came right after a second email, the responses were the same, so we counted one submission)
11 pilots from other bases claiming they were Philly (these were removed)
9 unverifiable submissions (employee numbers with letters or inaccurate numbers)
460 valid submissions
1 blank response to question
161 do not want merger talks
298 want merger talks

Argue all you want about union representation, company sitting across the table matters far more.

Lets get this done. APA is a dysfunctional union and we need to stop riding ALPA's coattails.

Undecided? Listen to The Straight & Level podcasts. An AA Pilots for ALPA production. We want the American Pilots to make an informed choice regarding ALPA representation.

Read about a squandered opportunity and how the APA ignored their own merger exploratory committees unanimous report, to see what a merger could bring to the pilots of AA here:

Our in-house union has proven they cannot be trusted to honestly carry out a merger process with ALPA. This card drive is the American Pilots' only good-faith and legal option to initiate a vote on this matter.
Here are some of the most common questions we have heard regarding the process and a potential transition to ALPA.
