someone with a more recent experience could have better insight but, when I got the call it was 2 weeks later. But I will say keep your flight times up to date every week, and keep your availability date in the future by 2 weeks ….

The only hard quota is Flow and I am not sure what that number is per month but I believe it is based off the percentage hired up to a max amount.

It depends on what they are looking for as the turn around. The only thing you can do is put yourself in a spot to be picked for an interview, which is do the skills test, go do meet and greets, and do interview prep.

Dec CJOs are currently getting called for Apr classes. Take that with a grain of salt since they have been working through the 2024 backlog filling classes. Now that the backlog is cleared out, summer pause is coming up. Anyone getting interviewed now is getting told fall classes

love these posts

many submits never get called, ever, for interviews

those that did get called, usually were 6 month-ish after, assuming job fair attendance and locked-in resume meeting the AA hiring criteria

Any truth to the report from Aero Crew News that American Airlines is going to pause hiring in June? Not classes for people with a cjo but hiring in general.

Aero Crew News is full of sh!t. We ALWAYS pause hiring in June. Fake news. In the summer it's all hands on deck, they take a break from new hire onboarding for the summer.

Nothing has changed, 900 retirements this year and current plan is to hire about 1400 total pilots. AA has already onboarded 400+ pilots this year so far.

Seems so, word from the stans meeting the other day (after this "news" broke) apparently was still 1,500 pilots for this year. Will that happen? Never know.

We haven't yet hired enough since the pause to cover retirements so I think it's reasonable (unless they announce parking airplanes) that hiring will continue until we have at least kept the seniority list from shrinking. I'd of course be happier if we actually grew it.

New hire classes were not stopped in June of 22, they went all summer long. Forgot about 2023 and I know they were in 2024. But to say AA has always done this is a little disingenuous and according to many posters on here AA had originally said that they were going to hire all year long. Of course like always they never put out any official statement one way or the other.
