I saw that as well!!! I thought I needed to have my eyes checked again. Either that was a huge press mistake or CNBC is ready for the next big announcement.

Yes, STL will be gone and I beleive everyone loses a lump sum option. Personally, as far as the TWA/STL issue, I think the APA was hamstrung on this with the TWA CC provisions. They negotiated Supplement CC and neither party could get out of that in any new contract without expensive compensation to the former TWA pilots.
Now in Chapter 11, CC will almost certainly disappear and I doubt any compensation will come of it. AMR will simply tell a judge it doesn't work, he'll easily see why and grant that in an 1113 motion.

As far as what happens to Supp CC in bankruptcy...we'll see what happens. I believe compensation will occur. We'll see who's right in a few months (or years).

I grew up with AA, my mom was a stewardess (yes they did have them at one time) for 41 years (retired in 03). I used to fly all over the world on passes in my coat and tie. I have sat next to Pavoratti and Vanna White (right after she did her playboy spread) in first class. I always hoped one day to fly there. I has been a long slow fall that I have hated to watch happen. I wish all the employees past and future the best and hope AA reaches new heights in the future. It has been sad to watch the company $(rew the employees for the last 12 years as well as the poor treatment of the TWA guys.
Good luck going forward!!!
