US Airways Said to Develop AMR Merger Plan to

I agree. What I tried to say in simple terms is that Parker has done his homework and has conceived a viable business plan moving forward. If this is the case, it wouldn't take much to convince the remaining UCC that HIS plan is better than Horton's.

If nothing else, these unions publicly poking AMR in the eye by lining up behind USAir sends a message to the BOD, the creditors and all involved with the BK process where the "rank and file" think their future lies. And it ain't with the AMR crowd.
And T-hawk..."100% safe"? You really are in another world.

AA a Ferrari? More like an Edsel in need of new tires, some bondo and a tune up, but hopefully the USAir deal will be the start of those repairs.

Your next point is even more accurate; AA unions going to US management is certainly not a ringing endorsement of Horton, the BOD or their bankruptcy plan.

On a side note, they've got the local pols stumping for them claiming the local economies will be better off if AA stays in Texas and exits BK stand-alone, yet missed the fact Parker will keep the AA brand, remain in DFW and save more jobs. Actually, they didn't miss that, but since this is just about maintaining power and merging when THEY want to so they can personally profit, who cares about truth and reality ?

It will be interesting to see what AMR does on Monday. Perhaps, they'll counter Parker's move by altering the term sheet requests to essentially match the U deals in an attempt to blunt the threat to their feifdom. I suppose they could even accept arbitration for the pilots and come out with a better deal that theoretically would be binding too.
Of course, none of that still would offer any strength to the absence of a viable business plan and what amounts to a 'no confidence' vote by virtually their entire labor force or as stated before, they could just continue arrogantly on with knife raised high.

I'd expect Horton to continue his attack on AA employees undaunted. I assume management will be in court Monday to proceed with their annihilation of labor. They won't learn from this or adapt as it's really all about them. Apparently, they believe THEY are AA and not the employees.

Thankfully they are politicians, and politicians love money, and wall street loves parker, and other airlines would love to see aa disappear.
Point is=politicians swing with the wind just as polls change,
Wall Street-they control the money and dont like AA expansion, will reduce the profits,
