TWA Arb.

Of the original 1,000 TWA Captains 835 came in senior to me and kept their seats never flying FO at AA until they retired or are still in Capt seats. There were 100 Capt's junior to me that many of them were displaced for 2 years then reinstated and a couple were displaced again for about a year or so and are back in capt seats. Approx 50 Capts were furloughed and are still awaiting reinstatement.
The overwhelming majority of TWA capt's kept their seats.
These numbers are grossly in error. There were nearly 200 Captains furloughed, some straight from the left seat. The one's in my seniority, were furloughed for a minimum of 3 years, 2004-2007 and just last fall were able to regain their seats. I am 2000 numbers junior to you now, and am still awaiting to be trained back to the left seat, 10 years after losing that seat and enduring a furlough.
Now with this "arbitration ruling", I am doomed to be eternal reserve should I bid a "protected" Captain seat.
I am not *****ing, I just want the readers to know that it isn't as low key as you are portraying it.
Of course, I am sure I am not as "Smart" as you.

THIS. Agreed wholeheartedly! Here's hoping we can reach a point where the worst argument we have is who picks up the tab for the cold ones we hoist to toast our good fortune.

PS There were more than 1000 TWA Captains. Care to guess how many?

Oh, and btw, there were 784 numbers that came in ahead of you on the list, not 835. Not all were Captains. Also, the list shows that they had DOHs from 02-DEC-1963 to 11-MAR-1988. What does the list show your DOH?

One more time, JM My whole airline was completely stapled to the bottom. Every one of our captains removed from the CA seat with no reinstatement. You have a reinstatement to CA I don't. I went to the absolute bottom of the seniority list.
Compared to me, TWA got a better deal.
The contract language for the arbitrators award will be out in 30 days. Yet you already don't like it.
I would do anything to be in the Captain seat. Yet EX TWA who's a mere 10 #'s from reinstatement is unhappy with everything everytime.
You are less than 3 months from CA. But you dont' want to be a reserve CA?
THE OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF TWA CAPTAINS ARE CAPTAINS AT AA, AND RETIRED FROM THEIR SEATS OR ARE STILL IN THEM.
I write, report and try to better things at AA. EXTWA just complains.
I accept the arb decision. Some of STL will remain open as a Home base.
Good for some who actually live there.

7576,
FYI... EXTW is just about one of the sanest and most objective Teeway guys we have, and does not tend to rock the boat like some others (both sides) on that other calm and passive union board. He is a good dude, as are 99% of them.
I think you guys might be misinterpreting each other through the thick lack of cyber-emotion.
Dr Phil rests his case.
