I've heard one guy, out of dozens or hundreds, mention that he's against the deal. Overall he's a mid pack to junior 767 CA.
Perhaps I didn't explain myself well enough. I know and have met a few AA guys. All of the ones I've PERSONALLY talked to are in favor of the merger.

The guys against, I was referring to, I heard about through this site. When JetHead was being lambasted on Tool of the Day for being afraid to land at DCA and kicking off every jumpseater and non-rev for the sake of fuel, someone posted that he had started a small coalition against the merger. They were described as being very senior. That's what I heard.

In my personal interactions with AA crew members, either through friendship or jumpseat rides, I have found that the ones I talked to are in favor of the merger.

Agreed, I think the merger is the best thing for the industry and labor.

Without the merger AA will need to grow, therefore, I believe it will be DP to do it. The new AA will be stronger and larger than US ever could be, so IMO, DP will do anything to run the new AA. This will create overcapacity again and hurt all of us!

The reasons AA pilots want the merger are obvious:

-Increased pay rates (USAir management's better offer was used as leverage to lessen cuts in BK, and the future established pay rates are better.)
-Ability to be a truly global carrier and compete with DL and UA.
-More revenue = more ability to increase pay
-Merger MOU has language to establish new AA pilot pay on par with UAL and DAL in 2016. Alone, they can't do that.
-Larger route system, enormous Airbus fleet in future, improvements in trips/schedules, etc.
-Equity stake

The list goes on and on.

Your list boils down to one thing:

More Pay.

Not that there is anything wrong with that, but lets call a spade a spade.

I base this on two precepts, The first being he as gotton AA labor behind him. The creditors know without labor on board AA cannot succeed. The second being that DP seems to WANT to run a big airline.
You could very well be right. Parker already bought a home in Dallas. Rumor is, his family has already moved.

If this deal is not approved, my bet is American recruits Parker for a stand alone plan. So Dug's second homes are safe.

Same here, Sliceback. I wonder if it wasn't the same guy.

It's illegal for someone to quit one company, and work for another? Really?
