in case some of you were wondering how many put apps in;
It’s been just about 12 years since we last hired pilots, and as I said in the announcement, this means movement and more opportunity – things we’ve all been looking forward to. The application window opened on Oct. 1 and 24 hours later, more than 4,000 applications had been submitted. Suffice it to say, there is considerable interest, and I’m confident we’ll have our pick of the best of the best!
We’ve worked hard to simplify things and handle the massive workload of processing qualified applicants. Your feedback is important, so we’ve created an online method for you to recommend an applicant, which ensures that all information is tied to the correct person.
As you can imagine, my desk and my schedule are hectic, and my staff and I cannot effectively handle the influx of requests for new hire recommendations. I feel that if you’ve taken the time to write a recommendation letter, you want it to be associated with the correct person, so to make sure that I do not interfere with that process, I will not be accepting letters of recommendation through email or at my office.
To make a recommendation, be sure that the individual has completed the application and that you have the email address they used in their application profile. From there, it’s simple - goto AACareers.com, click on the “Apply now” link in the Pilot section, then click on the “Recommendations” tab in the upper right hand side of the page.
