737 will be taking over. My guess is not anytime soon.... I'd be shocked to see new hires there for a very long time post SLI.... I'd suspect post SLI LAX, MIA, NYC and PHL(190) will be about it..... Rest will take time to get.

I know very little about it on the LUS side, but I doubt you'd get CLT pre-SLI and post-SLI I'd imagine that it'll be a very popular bid for some LAA guys. We had the base in RDU till '95 and we still have a TON of guys in the area. There may be a similar exodus of people from there that creates some opportunities, but I just feel like it'll go kind of senior. Many of our crew bases on the LAA side are very expensive places to live and the ones that are less so (like DFW) tend to go more senior. I'd expect CLT to trend that way.

All 3 bases are junior. Less than a year for CLT. Probably not available as a class drop choice but possibly the next bid after training. Who knows what will happen after SLI. There are a bunch of people all over the place that want to move. A bunch of AA guys want CLT but a bunch of CLT guys want to go west or to MIA.

^^ True. It takes a new hire about 6-12 months to hold CLT, just depending on the dynamics of each bid. Other "senior" LAA bases are about the same. DFW, DCA, ORD can be held with about a year or so on property, although you'll likely stay junior for some time.
Once the SLI is in place and the company allows cross-pollination, it's anyone's guess how it'll shake out. For example, I'm LUS DCA-based, and DCA is pretty junior...yet it's fairly senior on the LAA side. When I was CLT-based, we often carried LAA commuters to DFW, and I've run into quite a few LUS guys who are looking to go to LAX, DFW or ORD.

Thanks for all the good info on here.
Anyone on this board commute from RDU to either MIA,PHL or LGA?
If so, how do you find it?
We are considering moving to the Triangle area and I believe I should be able to hold those bases post SLI.
