Regional stuff was mainline stuff in DC-9 and Fokker 100.

Nice seeing PHL and UDC in the mix.

Means new hires might get - UDC (DCA), PHL, LGA, MIA or LAX.

That's a decent amount of options.

Can anyone say which of these bases would be the easiest commute for a new hire currently living in Houston? I have Indoc in November. I'm hoping for MIA 320, but can't move to back to Miami until March at the earliest due to various reasons.

Would any knowledgeable people out there who know what type of trips each airframe takes be willing to give a brief synopsis for those of us who aren't familiar? It would help a bunch. Thanks!

They go up, they go down, they go all around.

LUS is listed as all 'I' (international). Mix of domestic and international. The highest percentage of international (Caribbean) would be the MIA/737/I flying.

Six month averages -

LAX 320 - 13% 4 days
32% 3 days
48% 2 days
7% turns

PHL - 49% 4d
26% 3d
13% 2d
12% turns

UDC - 26% 4d
27% 3d
24% 2d
24% turns

MIA 737 - 19% 4d
45% 3d
19% 2d
17% turns

LGA 737 - 1% 4d
46% 3d
25% 2d
29% turns

E190 - 58% 4d
28% 3d
5% 2d
9% turns

I think the 190's do a lot of Shuttle flying.

I can't say, but I have heard often enough to remember it other people saying IAH-MIA is a relatively easy commute, to the extent that such a thing exists.

Commuting to reserve is going to suck, period.
Slightly less so off probation and on long call.

Mentoring a guy. Commutes IAH-MIA. Took about 6 months to be able to hold long call reserve. Plenty of crash pads near the airport.

IAH to MIA is super easy, almost always get Jumpseat of choice day of and a seat in the back. Several times I've gotten first class.
