Are you speaking for the West?
East short call is OK if you have a house in base. Work less, get paid more. The new international RAP keeps them from screwing us (on duty 24 hours) like they used to.

Ok, there is a dispute about who has the suckiest contract.... Its a tough call and looks like a tie..., so for a tie breaker we will reference your Avitar Pics... "Turd Polisher" wins!

Pilots should be allowed the option to accept or deny using long layover as an off day, but there also should be some monetary incentive for doing so.
I hope we end up with a predictable reserve system.
I believe it will be a sweat shop of a system intent on bringing everyone up to, but not above guarantee.
We need to be sure that APA jointly manage pairing construction and PBS bid solutions with the company.

You don't want the AA reserve system. It is broken. It is a leveling system that never works. Too many flaws.
Traditionally i've liked reserve in that we can pass trips until everyone in our group has flown, then you can pick your trip if multiple trips are available.
Now that we have Int'l RAP's reserve availability periods, it's difficult at best to get a trip you want.
Here's where i am, our contracts have always sucked when compared to DAL or UAL. We give way too much productivity and loopholes for AA to use against us.
We have people that strategically each month throw 1 PVD in the middle of a week of reserve. Then they cannot be used.
Is it time? DAL contract. Xerox the whole thing.
What do the USAir guys think?
I've read through the DAL contract, to me it's hands down superior to AA's.
Thanks.

Hopefully there are some low cost to us things the company wants and we can exchange low/no cost to the reserve improvements.
We have a good scheduling committee here. One of the best committees at USAPA IMHO and they know the issues.
