Default AA RSV system to be arbitrated today the 12th

Only this weekend was it (the proposal) leaked out. APA Comm sucks.

On our APA pilot message board one of our pilots wrote he spoke with CA Hale and then outlined the proposal (fix of our reserve system).

One of our LAX based pilots spelled it out for us yesterday and urged us to send messages to our BOD of APA. Too late.

Since 1999 we've won 1 arbitration.

It's time in my opinion "For the Delta Contract" for our JCBA with USAir.

I realize the Delta Contract is not perfect, it is Supreme to AA's and always has been.

From the book Hard Landings, quote attributed to Bob Crandall, "Everything should be barely perceptible less than United."

IT'S MORE THAN BARELY!!!

I totally agree, however with Parker at the helm I am not so sure.

Supposedly, the proposal was for Long call bid lines and short call bid lines.
Long call 72 hour guarantee and next day flying ONLY. Commuter friendly.

Short call lines 76 hour guarantee same day flying only.

An improvement over the Chaos that is going on now.

However just a couple hours ago, one of the Neg. people said, as of an hour ago, there is no AIP (agreement in principle).

We'll find out later today.

On the US side, crew planning may have seen this coming. They changed our long call to 12 hours from 9.

They changed it from 9 to 10 for 117, then recently changed it to 12. If I had a dollar for every time I hear they only notify u at 1pm eastern the day prior..... I burned a sick call on probation as this is not always the case!!!

that's how it normally works, but if the trip opened up outside the long call window (at the time 9 hrs) Long call rsv was getting assigned to it. burned much more than 1 sick call on that....

Usually happens when the line holder wants to give the company plenty of time to get that 730am departure covered, so he calls out at 9pm......thanks...

Most guys know how much it helps everyone if the sick call happens at 8 hrs out.

That's what I thought too. It better have a major penalty for the transition of long to short or everyone will always be transitioned to short, especially for the last day.
