I wouldn't even worry about the reaction on C&R. C&R is not a good representation of American pilots (AA/AW/US). It attracts a very vocal minority, guys who enjoy getting into an Internet fist fight, conspiriracy theorists, etc. That's why I quit using that forum last year, and quitting has done wonders for my blood pressure...

I think a lot of the guys that were against the JS reservation system are now for it. There are still many firmly against it, but quite predictably they have really low seniority numbers. The reservation system in use now is not as good as the one US Airways had. You can't see if the JS is reserved (online) until the person is checked in. That means having to use the phone to find available JS vs a quick search on the computer. POS space travelers are able to bump jumpseaters, that's a problem.

I'm with ya, bro!
I heard so much bad stuff about it-I just saved myself a bit of trouble and never started in the first place.
Never been there. Never will.

Pos space TO training or DH TO work a flight is A1, will bump passenger to get you on. Pos space FROM training or DH at end of trip is A3, will confirm a seat if open when reservation is made, will NOT bump a passenger to get you on. Union members travel at A9 or something like that. Any of those can bump someone out of their reserved jumpseat.

Edit: If this happens to you, kindly ask to talk to the captain and make the A1 take their seat in the back.

Happened to a classmate 5 (five) times outta PHL. Superior pilots just wanna help out the company (and f___ the j/s-er by the way), no matter how many times they got effed by mother AA over the years. Must be superior coolaid.

You are the type of guy that instead of telling a captain he is wrong, you would go complain to the chief pilot.
I miss that Cactiboss guy.
