Maybe I'm misunderstanding you name user. You seem to be saying that the company offered the APA/east the exact language that is in the new contract, but we said "No, we don't want the makeup portion." Is that correct? Because if so, we don't have that power.

I believe the APA folks approached the company about implementing sequence protection earlier than was planned with PBS spin up. The company said we can work on that but you'll need to give up your two day bid sheet process as an FYI. The East guys felt the two day bid sheet was better than a line protection and elected to keep that vs giving it up. Obviously the company doesn't want a line guarantee, it costs more, they were happy putting it on the back burner.

I wasn't privy to the entire discussion process but more or less this was how it went down as it was described to me last year. Whether or not that was true or not I don't know.

1. Our membership needs to be a lot tougher.
2. The current APA president is a complete joke.
3. It'll take more than a little rage to make any progress against this management.

I blame the union....

We had huge leverage to get a really sweet contract. The company wanted this merger done-and it couldn't happen without a JCBA. But of course we got a stinking turd to vote on.

A lot of us were in PHL for the roadshow where Wilson came and said it was a good deal and he was voting yes. Now that it's a mess why is he still in office?

Because he's distracting everybody with other great giveaways like the LUS IVR.

I wonder how any of the main guys are in office.

APA is by far the worst I have ever seen.

I don't think voting ALPA in would change a thing unless we can flush the peanutty turds who gave us this contract.

Wilson reminds me of an assistant flight commander. Send a memo or two, hold the party line and disappear when the going gets tough. Oh, and no follow through, ever.

I called the APA contract hotline last year and talked to someone. I have no idea who it was. He gave me the cliff notes, I'm just regurgitating what I remember.
